Looking at the titles of the entries here I see that Flunky thinks that Andre is a liar despite him not being bright enough to have ever read one of Andre's books. Not as if it would be difficult to obtain one since even Amazon has at least 18 titles. But Flunky has shown that he isn't a reading person since he and Frank share a propensity for inventing things I've said.

Calling Flunky a pansy is an insult to a sweet little flower. That clown may aspire to be a sweet little flower but he's too much the lumpenproletariat jerk, continually stumbling over his own flat feet. --AJ

What so you suppose he does for a living? Since he is on the computer all the time it is probably living at hid parents house being supported by them..

Flunky sure has that sense of entitlement. I'd bet he's sponging on his parents while waiting for Joe Biden to stick his community college debt on the American tax payer. -- AJ

Well, Considering his remarks, I don't believe that he is smart enough to have qualified for community college.

They just had a video that I watched about how to increase speed of computation by three orders of magnitude using light valves rather than transistors. Looking at the comments below was truthfully rather shocking. It was comments such as you would see in a 5th grade classroom when I was in school those many years ago. Not only didn't they grasp the monumental change in computational power this would bring about, but the maker of the video didn't realize just how spectacularly it would change not only the hardware aspect of computers but how it would require a totally different manner of programming since present day programming does ONE logical sequence at a time and light valves would allow multiple logical sequences and actually make computers at last more capable of the human brain. Though a light switch is smarter than the people like Russell, Flunky, Frank, John or Scharf.

Wow! So we have yet another topic on which Tom is smarter than almost
everybody! :-)

Next tommy will tell us a light valve computational device is connected to the internet with light lines. Of course the idea that a light valve is being used as a computational device is about as real as the idea that "light lines" is a common term for fiber optics. The reason? Using light valves in combinatorial logic configurations was considered possibly faster 40 years ago (here's a white paper from 1981 https://opg.optica.org/ao/abstract.cfm?uri=ao-20-13-2250). I remember a seminar on the subject I attended as a sophomore at Northeastern University in 1982. What tommy is unaware of is that a combinatorial logic block is not the same thing a s a processing algorithm (of course, he had no idea what VHDL was either, so that's not surprising). I'm not sure what video tom thought he saw, but it probably wasn't very current, or maybe floated by the same types that think EM drives are are practically achievable, or more likely it was discussing something entirely different than what he thought it did.

If tommy posts a link to this video, and it shows credible _current_ research into using light valves in computational applications, I'll admit I'm wrong. I've admittedly not paid too much attention to advances in theoretical computation techniques since the early days of quantum computer designs.

BTW for the dumb and dumber twins - My parents are living off me since I remodeled the carriage house on my property for them to live out their retirement free from the burden of utilities and rent. This is the kind of thing you can accomplish with an engineering degree from a school like northeastern, then get jobs at companies and show productivity and dedication so they don't kick your loser ass out after a year like kept happening to sparky, or getting rejected by publishers for submitting tired and trite excuses for literature like skippy.

He would be as correct about that he is about everything else, and if you haven't figured out by this time that no one gives a rats ass about your opinion, you're even more stupid and deluded than we already thought.

To wit - you and sparky. Bet you'd be real proud to drag him into your local salon sessions, eh skippy? Maybe just as a curiosity though, sort of your own little Dinner for Schmucks. But then, seeing your behaviour here, I'd imagine a social gathering of your ilk more of a session of Romper Room than it is a salon.

That entire obstinate group whose only meaning in life is to attack me all appear to be nancy-boys. When you've been proven wrong on every single front wouldn't you think that you would retire in shame? There is a group of normal posters that I have alienated by continuing this line but what the hell good is a bicycles, tech group is these morons turn absolutely everything into a political discussion showing themselves to be not just foolish but actually enjoying being so.

Yes, one would think when you've been proven wrong on every single front wouldn't you would retire in shame.

Tom, besides andre, you are the _only_ person in this groups who turns everything into a political discussion.

"appear to be nancy-boys" ????

Err... Tommy!

Lets see... I've been married (to the same woman) for 50 years and
Frank (probably) for about 30 years, or maybe more.

While Tommy just announced his wedding, 2 weeks ago???

Lets see, born 1944 (was it) so 78 years old... and just wed? And what
were you doing Tommy, in the intervening years? Hanging about near the
public urinals and licking you lips?

But that was Tommy's second or third wedding. To the same woman he was married and divorced before. Who had children from another marriage or nonmarriage she had with another man before Tommy came into the picture. And Tommy's wedding was in Reno Nevada. Nothing says love and fidelity and commitment like RENO!!!!!!!!! Funny, I've been to a few weddings in my life. They were always at the bride's church or hometown. Do you think Tommy's wife is from Reno?

I don't know whether it is a comment on U.S. morality/ conduct/
whatever/ but out of curiosity I just asked my wife if she ever
considered divorce and she said, I'm translating literally here, "No.
I got mad at you but you are my husband".

Roughly half of U.S. marriages end in divorce. It's sad.

I know quite a few fine people who have gone through divorce. The
resulting trauma has been tough on the kids, and even on the extended
families.

But stability is no longer considered worth the effort. "You're not
perfectly happy? Change something! Be all you can be! The kids will be
all right." :-/

"Roughly half of U.S. marriages end in divorce."

But they didn't used to.

Growing up in a small New England town I remember only one divorced
woman. She was a school teacher and while I was pretty young at the
time and probably didn't understand all that the "Big People" were
saying I think she was viewed by, particularly other married women, as
some what of a "scarlet woman".

It was also the custom to have long engagements, where a couple
enjoyed somewhat less vigorous supervision, for maybe a year. Which, I
assume, allowed the couple to sort of "get to know" each other.
