Do all complete new headsets always come with a crown race. I have a Wilier 2013 GT and it has an FSA integrated headset. Was doing some maintenance today and clean the headset. I removed bearings and they were spinning ok but a bit dirty. I cleaned them with WD40 and regreased and installed back. To me these had the exact same top and bottom bearings but no writing on the bearing itself indicating the specs. Appears to be standard 36/45. I am thinking of getting a spare to have around but not sure which FSA this is exact.

I think that you're pretty much on your own unless you describe the exact headset you have. I thought that FSA was using standard 5202 bearings in their headsets,

Well it is an FSA headset that came with bike it is integrated and the 2 bearings are the same size. I just wonder if they include a new crown race with a headset but I don't need to change it. It is completely confusing on the FSA website. They list two different ones but I can't tell which mine is. I guess I need to measure the head tube which is 46 cm at the opening top and bottom. THe bearings sit in the headtube just fit. It is a full CF steering tube 1 1/8.
For a technical group it is a challenge I see.

Take your bearing down to a bearing house and let him match it. You should be using a bearing with seals anyway. These are standard bearings and are cheap cheap cheap.

Answering myself. I finally go the bearing specs. It is a 41.8 x 30.5 and 8mm depth. FSA said a MR121 seems you can buy them online pretty much anywhere they got for about $13 each. I guess I better get a couple for spares. My guess is headset bearing rarely go bad if installed and proper preload, and no play but spin well.

It is completely confusing on the FSA website. They list two different ones but I can't tell which mine is. I guess I need to measure the head tube which is 46 cm at the opening top and bottom. THe bearings sit in the headtube just fit. It is a full CF steering tube 1 1/8.

You're an American and I would suggest that you go to a local Bearing house and get a Timken bearing. They are a couple of bucks more but they won't wear out.

Well... I have bought and rehabilitated bikes that were 20 years old
and they ever required the head bearings to be replaced (:-)

spelled "they never" :-)
