Quite some time ago Anderw brough to our attention the fact that Campy said that the lower range components were incompatible with the upper range parts.

Looking up the cable pull amounts on both of them showed the same pull. So I was very skeptical. Andrew was merely reading off of the manual so he was only repeating what Campy said.

Since no one here knows shit from Shinola about upper range components other than Andrew, I went off to other technical groups and asked there. A mechanical engineer (the real kind) said that he used Record 11 levers with his Centaur 11 rear derailleur and that it worked fine.

Since I have lately also broken the myth that Campy and Shimano 11 speed Cassettes don't shift with each other, I found a set of Chorus levers and ordered them to try on the Trek. My C50 has a complete Chorus group on it so it will be easy to test.

I'll let everyone know after the tests are over.

I ride 11 speed upper level Campagnolo groups (Chorus, Record, Super Record with Potenza spare RD) for 8 years now. You are a beginner and a slow learner.

Lou, in which case I have to ask why you didn't say anything at the time that Andrew was telling us what the Campy tech manual said?

I did when Andrew mentioned Potenza. I don’t know about Centaur; I trust Andrew about that.

Well, I somehow missed that and I was following the conversation enough to investigate the cable pull length of all of the levers. So that hardly makes be a beginner and slow learner.

That's right, Mr Holtman. Thank you.
We just never had occasion to set up those combinations
(different customer, mostly).
