There is a saying - everyone wants to sell something sometime. Well, it happened again. The other day I tried to buy some Chorus levers for $350 and a couple of weeks later the seller who turned out to be some sort of dealer told me that they have been sold to someone else.

Well looking in today a private party is selling a set of VGC Record Red Label 11 speed levers. So I snapped them up. They cost the same as that set of Chorus levers would have. This completes my forever bikes. I think that Sunday I will take my gravel bike out again and if I have the same back troubles with it I will sell it off. It is an excellent bike beyond being a Cannondale and having the Cannondale problem of being extremely stiff. As I reported before, the Optima has mechanical disk brakes but they are hydraulic mechanicals so that both sides of the shoes close down equally. This is probably the source of why I thought that braking rather violent on the bike.

Unlike some people we could mention here, I have the capacity of thinking about several problems at once. I wonder why that seems to painful to those that they have to comment on it all of the time. It must come from deeply troubled souls.

One can accuse you of many things but not of self-underestimation. I heard that all the women can do that, so not that special.

Well, that was really referencing Frank's commandment that anything he doesn't like, no one should like. Whether pickup trucks or "military weapons of war" which is every single gun ever made. Muskets were used in the revolutionary war. Cannons were a necessary means of protection of private ships to protect themselves from pirates. The pump action shotguns and the lever action Winchester 1894 and Henry rifles were military issue.

But enough of that. I did another 25 mile ride but this one was very slow. My rebuilt Garmin 830 is still in the mail so I again used the 810. When I took it out Thursday it was showing 40 or so miles on it. After plugging it into the Garmin program it updated, I guess, to all of the miles completed on the 810 so today it was showing 700 plus. Also under the heading of weird Garmin occurrences: the window that used to show "distance" still said "Mi" but was showing nothing. After half of the ride I noticed that there was some fine print in the window saying "miles to go" My assumption is that would be used if you had set the maps for a century or some such. I didn't do that but it did update the maps and I know that it had changed because in another window it was announcing each cross street as I approached them. It didn't do that before.

I appreciate the fact that Garmin is improving their product all of the time but I'm getting rather tired of their improvements changing my screens.
