Illucid. Gravity has a speed, which may not exceed the speed of light,
for physics not getting in big trouble. Ie gravity without matter. That's
waves. Group velocity for such waves may exceed light, bringing physics
in big trouble.

matter can be trapped in a gravity well because it is subject
to gravity deceleration escape velocity... because light
has its constant absolute C speed it has never obeyed
escape velocity deceleration that matter has to.

The path of light at Sobral and Shapiro was one parabola.
Light in any gravity field has its one parabola
leading it out of all gravity.
