Nice bike path. However, I don't see any traffic on that road at all.

The road was still closed. It isn't a very busy road though but it is narrow.

"not busy" and "narrow" are the best for riding.

Yesterday's club ride was mostly on such roads. We control the lane,
motorists are patient and polite, it all works great. And much public
funding is saved for things like paving. (One stretch was repaved just
two weeks ago. Heavenly smooth!)

Club run and cycle lanes even ones as good as that are nearly always poor
fits. Occasionally on a gravel club run might use a wee section but it’s
rarely more than 4 riders more likely 2/3. So relatively easy and to roll
along short sections. If they happen to link up some more interesting
stuff.

One other thing about gravel bikes and wider tires at low pressures is that
you don’t get that zing with fresh tarmac.

Eeek. I very much prefer roads like this one.

<https://www.mystrobl.de/ws/pic/fahrrad/20200721/20200721_160633.jpg>

It isn't very busy, either. Notice the oncoming cyclist. But sometimes,
it is: <https://www.mystrobl.de/ws/pic/fahrrad/20220808/DSC00995.jpg>
Not much of a problem.

Or these

<https://www.mystrobl.de/ws/pic/fahrrad/20220816/P1066950.jpg>

<https://www.mystrobl.de/ws/pic/fahrrad/20220816/P1066973.JPG>

Or this road, near the Effelsberg radio telescope*).

<https://www.mystrobl.de/ws/pic/fahrrad/20220808/DSC01021.jpg>

No, I'm not talking about that somewhat worn bike path on the right.

<https://www.mystrobl.de/ws/pic/fahrrad/20220808/DSC01017.jpg>

<https://www.mystrobl.de/ws/pic/fahrrad/20220808/DSC01018.jpg>

(from

giving some context, for those understanding German, with GPS
coordinates)

About that worn bike path, I asked an rhetorical question in that
article: "Why do pedestrians and cyclists have to share this junk in
both directions, while the roadway is also almost unused? Not that
traffic would keep me from riding there - motorized traffic is always
annoying, but that mandatory path is downright absurd as it is."
