They can't even provide electricity for people to prepare dinner, but they're forcing people to buy electric cars, which they're already begging them not charge!

Must be a lot of incest in California to make its leaders so dim, so incapable of connecting actions to results.

But then again, didn't the RBT Gang of Morons only yesterday or the day before abuse Tom for forecasting exactly this, yet another failure of judgement on the part of those ineffectual monkeys? I can't make up my mind whether these monkeys have made RBT a bigger laughingstock than California. or whether California just shades out our homegrown idiots.

Andre, I reside in a rural county of California; the homelessness problem is getting really bad around here, too; and I have absolutely no idea what can be done to solve it.

Pretty close. Gavin Loathsome is Nacy Pelosi's nephew. He is probably the second most ignorant person this side of Biden. His office was literally bought by the Democrats.

It is actually pretty easy - there is MORE than enough housing for people if you haven't boosted the price of housing out of reach of working people. How did this happen? Large companies have either bought up all of the available housing and set rents out of reach. They have also been building houses that are in the multimillions of dollars in prices, When I bought this home for my mother I paid something like $85,000 by the time my mother died and I inherited her home, it had already been taxed at a level of $156,000 before Prop. 13 was enacted locking in taxes at that price + inflation. And yet my latest offer without ANY clean up or improvement is $880,000.

The next door neighbors on one side work three jobs among the two of them JUST to pay the rent to their brother-in-law who is just trying to pay the taxes since he bought fairly recently. On the other side two families live in the space that me and my wife live without enough space!

Drugs are in such plentiful supply that cops no longer bother small time operators. Someone that only sells drugs to a dozen or so people isn't bothered. Drugs completely aside of killing people, make them incapable of working.

So homelessness has been manufactured by the Democrats so that they can always point to someone and claim that it is the fault of the Republicans for wanting to end the drug trade or the illegal immigration. You don't like it? Tough shit - Biden just said that he will use the Army and Air Force on you so you are powerless.

Tommy, you are setting new records in the "I'm a fool race".

You state that,
"there is MORE than enough housing for
people if you haven't boosted the price of housing out of reach of
working people. How did this happen? Large companies have either
bought up all of the available housing and set rents out of reach."

Stop and think (I know that is difficult) but
if there is "more then enough housing", as you say, and "boosted the
price of housing out of reach", again as you say, then who is renting
these houses? Or is there housing all over California setting empty
because the rent is too high? If so then obviously the owners must be
going broke with no rental income...

And... if the houses are going broke then the banks that were owed the
money would be putting the houses on the market for a price that sells
so the price of housing would fall.

As I previously wrote Tommy, your posts are like someone "breaking
wind", a loud noise, a foul smell and no substance what so ever.

--
Cheers,

John B.

Well.... yes, you are correct.

I wonder what County that might be....

We have plenty of homeless here in the Santa Cruz area and I even see them
in Jackson (amador county?).

AS you, I don't have an answer...except maybe to leave them alone if they
are not bothering anybody.

I live in California and am very aware of the current problems. We
are having a nasty drought.
<https://www.drought.gov/current-conditions>
Besides the lack of hydroelectric power, we have a potentially
disastrous fire situation. In the center of the fire problem is PG&E
(Pacific Gas and Electric), the major power supplier. PG&E has been
guilty of neglecting maintenance on the power system for many years.
It has also been proven that a large number of fires are started by
sparks from fallen power lines. To reduce the danger from foliage,
PG&E is furiously engaged in remedial measures including aggressive
tree trimming, undergrounding power lines in forested areas, and
tweaking the existing fault detection system. The last part is the
source of the recent power outages. At the center are devices called
reclosers and sectionalizers. Reclosers detect a line fault and
disconnect sections of the local grid until the fault is cleared. I
don't want to go into detail here except to mention that the reclosers
are now operating as high sensitivity circuit breakers and do NOT
automatically attempt to re-establish power if a fault is detected.
Since the reclosers are more sensitive than the fuses on the power
poles, the fuses never have time to open.

Some details here:
<https://www.pge.com/en_US/residential/outages/enhanced-powerline-safety-settings/enhanced-powerline-safety-settings.page>
A side effect of high sensitivity reclosers preventing fires caused by
sparks are frequent power interruptions. To make matters worse, the
safety people insist that the lines be manually inspected before the
power can be turned back on. During the daytime, that's typically 2
hrs. At night, it can be 2 hrs after sunrise. Because the existing
antiquated system does not have any sectionalizers to isolate small
parts of the grid, a minor fault will disconnect power to a rather
large area. A small 2 acre fire yesterday, a few miles from a 40kv
transmission line, inspired PG&E to disconnect over 6,000 homes for
about 3 hrs. This is what the warnings of blackouts are really about.

Feel free to politicize technical problems, but don't be surprised if
I ignore the political aspects.

There was plenty that could have been done once to reduce or eliminate the homelessness, but wasn't done because homelessness itself and the other trouble it causes makes bureaucrats more powerful, which, hardly interrupted by Republican governors, seems to be the whole point of California for many decades now, even if not always as blatantly as today. Smart people move somewhere else, if they can. George Lucas, who wanted to build low cost housing for the homeless, was stopped by the NIMBYS and the bureaucrats in their pockets. California cannot be both a sanctuary state and a heavily zoned state. It's legislators and bureaucrats are working against the solution to homelessness.
>
It must be said though that the fastest solution to homelessness, tower blocks of subsidised housing as trialed in Britain, didn't work so well in the States. The Settlements in Minneapolis became a festering sore of crime, and was it in St Louis where eventually the municipality blew down the tower blocks in a spectacularly synchronised rejection of a failed policy?
>
I'm afraid that until there's an adult governor in California who isn't beholden to the bureaucrats -- not much of a chance -- homelessness will remain an intractable and growing problem. Californians could of course vote for Mr Trump and make the price of their support that his Wall be the first priority of his next administration, so that at least the problem is put on pause to give them a little time to seek a solution. Not much chance of that either, I imagine.

Democracies are not good with intractable problems, especially self-caused problems at the intersection of ideologies.

Gavin Loathsome just signed a bill making electric cars madatory after 2025.. This morning they announced that you many not use major electrical applianced between 4 pm and 9 pm. This is the time most people get home from work and want air conditioning and to make their meal. When do you suppose it will dawn on people that that Green New Deal isn't what it is cracked up to be?

But this is California and no amount of failure of the communist system will change their minds about how wonderful it is.

Ummm... it's in 2035. The sale of new gasoline powered vehicles will
be banned after Jan 2025. If you can't recall the numbers, please
take notes.

Move out of that hellhole!

Frank proves that he hangs on your every posting and every word. He can hardly wait for your next posting to not be able to refute it and then say that he ignores it. What an uncomplicated ass. He must be as simple minded as Biden.

I was looking something up and tripped across a posting of yours from 12 years ago. As usual you caught Kragowski in a blatant lie. It was actually pretty funny how Frank is counter helmet. I happen to have shown my doubts about helmets saving lives but then it is Kragowski's position that they do nothing at all. And plainly they do. In the thread he showed he was willing to lie about anything no matter how small "he data I cited clearly shows that bike helmets haven't reduced head
injuries in the entire American population during the years listed.' There is NO data source of injuries while riding bicycles with or without a helmet.

While I have zero faith that except in exceptional circumstances could a helmet save your life, the very design of a helmet is to protect your head in minor accidents and that it wouldn't work under those circumstances is nothing but pure denial of scientific fact by the man from Youngstown.

On of the benefits of googling, which you disdain, it that you don't

Communist system???

You mean like giving money to the elderly because they are too lazy to

"There is NO data source of injuries while riding bicycles with or
without a helmet"????

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2542522/
Wearing a helmet reduced the risk of head injury by 63% (95%
confidence interval 34% to 80%)
https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2016/sep/22/bicycle-helmets-reduce-risk-of-serious-head-injury-by-nearly-70-study-finds
A major study of bike helmet use around the world from more than
64,000 cyclists has found helmets reduce the risks of a serious head
injury by nearly 70%
https://injepijournal.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s40621-020-00249-y
Approximately 75% of all bicycle-related mortality is secondary to
head injuries, 85% of which could have been prevented by wearing a
bicycle helmet.
