Norwegians have been left awestruck by a bright meteor that illuminated the night sky in the country's south-east.

Aliens came to earth?
Greatings hoomans!
We're here to help you in the global warming problems.

Too bad the place is so desolate, otherwise they'd likely have found it like the one in Britain.

Pieces will probably be found, having been captured on multiple
cameras. Its strewn field will probably be calculated to within a few
hundred meters width and a few kilometers length.

How about satellites?
If sats are so great to spot ICBMs, should have no problem locating a bright meteorite?

Satellites have occasionally provided information on meteors, but
mostly in regards to energy, not position (you need at least two views
to get the position and velocity). And the satellites that are most
useful are largely classified, and it's a challenge to convince the
DoD to release data.

The best data comes from networks of ground-based cameras, which are
now widespread.
