Well, I finally discovered how to link my phone with my Garmin 830. This morning I simply could NOT find the 830 and was forced to use the 800. Getting home and turning the place upside down I discovered that the cat had done a marvelous job of hiding it away almost but not quite in plain sight.

If I had managed to pair the phone with the Garmin 830 in the first place I could have used the phone to show that indeed the Garmin was in the general area.

But the Garmin manual and the screens do not use the same language and they do not tell you that even though they are next to each other that they can take as much as a half minute to detect each other.

But I finally went through the proper method and discovered that the problem was that though it never appeared to, it had started to pair with my previous A21 and I had to pair it with my A22,

Yee gods, what a royal pain in the ass. But I suppose it's all over and done with now.
