Should not all the planets then be growing?
Why would the Earth be special?

No, that is just left over from Hubble and Zwicky and the old sky-survey
that over-counted red-shift.

Otherwise don't worry it's just a mathematical apparatus in the abstract
to associate time with length in a usual sense, it is only a manner of
speaking that "the Earth 'grows' in time as it is simply in time".

Really though the theories of inflation are kind of panning down not so much out.
They're great theories for what and when they are - i.e. given the data -
some things have changed.

After "revisiting Hubble, Heisenberg, Higgs", makes for renovating modern physics,
all quite simply in otherwise the existing line of development.

(Flat universe w/infinitesimal cosmological constant, real wave-function plus resonances,
about the lifetimes of protons and electrons, after Planck and rational mechanics for
continuum mechanics and how parastatistics work out, of course for a fall gravity.)

(It was important for the Big Bang Theory that red-shift was like so.
Having creation theories that basically point to a grand action makes
for a neatest combination of science and some usual theologies. These
days there is again insight into "how can it possibly be both a Big Bang
and Steady State theory", that pretty much our supercluster is local.)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supercluster

That there is "the apparent illusion of the faster-than-light in relativistic
dynamics for example the most accessible cosmic experiment of binary
pulsars", it's going to be OK and the working theory helps people worry
more about local events than the giant cosmic enterprise, it is well-founded
that the working theory evolves".

About, ... about 100.

Singularity theory is coming a long way for singularities in physics,
that the spiral-space-filling-curve serves as a singularity in a complementary
way as to how asymptotes do: if for helping explain asymptotic freedom and
so on, about rehabilitating theories like "Des Cartes' vortices", for example,
helping frame the intuitive underpinnings in what results our classical frame.

About the sky-survey you can read about 2MASS and LaniaKea and so on.
