It could just be instrumentation changes over the last 1000 years.

San Francisco has moved its official weather station about 5 times so
far, always into a warmer part of town. A forest of giagantic
buildings surround it now. Not much vegitation now.

Or maybe we're all dead.

Temperatures here have been well below normal for four months.

We are almost 8 inches above the normal rainfall for the calendar year.

It's like not July.

There wasn't any instrumentation around a thousand years ago. There are lots of climate proxies from the sedimentary record - Greenland and Antarctic ice cores were an early example. Michael Mann was an early exponent, and the climate change denial propaganda creeps went for him in a big way, but his "hockey-stick" has now been replicated by some two dozen completely independent studies.

Denialist propaganda sources like Anthony Watts do like to ignore this, and that's where John Larkin gets his misinformation.

The official Seattle weather station is now MUCH closer to a
Starbucks coffee outlet than in the '60s. And, the clams at the
Duwamish outlet aren't recommended eating any more.
