Actually France has very serious problems with vaccine hesitancy being
almost mainstream opinion. Something like 40% of the population refusing
the vaccine point blank. Believe it or not that is a big improvement
from last December when it was only 40% willing to have the vaccine.

Vaccine breakthrough in single and double vaccinated individuals seems
to be possible with the Delta variant (Israel is having the worst
problems). However, although it cannot prevent symptomatic disease it
remains very effective at preventing hospitalisation and death.

Deaths of vaccinated people down by about an order of magnitude compared
with deaths of unvaccinated people. But it is their choice to make.
Viewed from a UK perspective US seems to be overplaying claims for the
effectiveness of the vaccine in preventing hospitalisation.

Delta pretty much doubles the chances of ending up in hospital.

No. Naturally acquired immunity to Covid wanes to nothing in about 4
months and then you can catch it again. The vaccines generate a strong
antibody response and appear to work for at least 6 months but antibody
levels do seem to wane on a timescale that is shorter than a year.

It remains to be seen if it confers any advantages after that or whether
there will have to be annual (9 monthly?) booster jabs for the most
vulnerable much like we do with flu now.
