Immunology has been advancing rapidly, and I decided a refresh was in
order. But I wanted a broad survey, not a 600-page tome, because I'm
not in the business. So I went looking, and found the following
170-page 8.5x11" book. About $40 in paperback.

"How the Immune System Works (The How it Works Series) 6th Edition",
by Lauren M. Sompayrac (Author), Wiley-Blackwell; 6th edition (April
15, 2019), 176 pages. ISBN-10: 111954212X, ISBN-13: 978-1119542124.

I'm about one third of the way through it, and I already can
understand why its Amazon star rating is so high (91% 5-star). This
is the real deal. It is not Immunology for Poets.

So, I decided to publish the details to S.E.D., as there is much
interest due to COVID.

You might also want to take a look at

_How Pathogenic Viruses Think: Making Sense of Virology_

Unfortunately, it relies on anthropomorphism to present
its materials but it's as good a literary device as any.

(It's a considerably "lighter" read than the first text -- but
still not "for poets" -- a turn of phrase that I will remember!)
