I had citicised a certain subset of science, which behaves like a
pseudo-religious cult.

Science itself does not behave this way, because science is a certain
method and not a sect or a cult.

But such cults do apparently exist.

The members behave like members of 'Yehowans witnesses', for instance,
who try to sell the paper 'The Watchtower' at a windy corner near the
train station.

Then, I look the drawing as a whole and evaluate the cost/benefit to bring it to 99 % completion. In many cases I'll do.

Highly likely is the chance that I stop there and call the work complete. To invest too much time for a 1% is, very often, not economical.

This difference in pondering the value of the remaining 1% is what make an abysmal difference between your way and mine. And, clearly,
you HATE that I don't invest time in solving the 1%.

Another example that can be more familiar to you: HIFI sound systems.

In the 70's there was a crazyness in the industry to develop amplifiers (for hobbyists) with:

- Analog technology.
- 120 dB dynamic range.
- 0.001% of overall distortion (linear and non-linear)
- 30 or 40 Khz adaptive bandwidth (to manage sudden changes in shock waves, from silence to full orchestra)
- $ 5,000 to $ 15,000 a piece (and only this single component). You would require more than 40 grands for the full system.

What is funny that THEN and NOW, 99% of adults (30 yo average) are:

- Limited to capture no more than 80 dB dynamic ranges (the auditory system is a bitch).
- Limited to hear not above 12 to 13 Khz (again the auditory system aging rapidly).
- Limited to detect, barely, 1% overall distortion (psico-acoustics is a bitch).
- Not willing to pay more than $3,000 for the whole package.

Now, what is HILARIOUS FOR ME is what followed:

1) Digital music entered massively with CDs, which limits dynamic range to 15 bits/channel, with 48 Khz sampling (BW < 24 Khz)
and 12 songs using 600 MBytes of storage. It provided about 400 Kbps stream per channel. The compression was LOSSLESS.

2) MP3 start a revolution, thanks to coding and psico-acoustic filters based on how the brain process sound. The following happened:

- Now a CD could store 10 to 20 more songs, depending on how the MP3 codec was programmed.
- The algorithm for the CODEC is LOSSY. Information in time and frequency that your brain can't process IS DELETED.
- The entire spectrum prior to the CODEC is equalized to enhance middle and lower frequencies, directly cutting high frequencies.
- Dynamic range is reduced by compressing the entire spectrum after the above step. You don't need more than 60 dB, at most.
- If the seller can, they will charge you with $3,000 (again) for a modest 2+3 channels to "surround" you.
- A sub-woofer, which mix and filter channels to get a 50-250 Hz low frequency signal is powered with 10 times the power of the rest.

What is the result? People IS HAPPY! They like this "no-music" a lot, and still think it's HIFI.

Why? Because people IS IDIOT, in general. Also, not a single person hear music in the same way as other, so this mutilation goes
UNNOTICED.

To finish: This 30 years deception in audio systems is even worse in video systems. And people IS HAPPY!

Because they are INDOCTRINATED to think and share in the "heard mentality". Of course, 1 out of 100,000 complains, but nobody
gives a flying fuck to such claims of what is wrong.

Civil use was also mainly created by engineers in companies, who build
planes.

Theories were actually developed from the experiences of engineers, who
started with a trail and error method (like e.g. Otto Lilenthal).

Lilienthal studied at the 'Gewerbeakademie Berlin' (much later
TU-Berlin), why we could also call him an engineer,too.

called 'von Neumann architecture'.
