I was out riding in Oakland which is considered to be one of the most dangerous places in the bay area. I had just descended Broadway Terrace and pulled across the large wide road into the bike lane headed down Broadway. Two other cyclists came up behind me coming down Broadway from the cross street that leads to the edge of UC Berkeley Campus.

Since I was in their way, when the light changed I pulled away fast so that they would have room to pass after the traffic went by. But almost across the street my tubeless tire blew off of the rim and I was thrown directly in front of the car that had been next to me at the stop light. The car stopped without running over me because I was so far ahead of it. He stopped and got out to help me up, The car in the left lane on the other side of the street came to a complete stop and got out to help and so did the man in the car behind her. In total at least five people were helping me up and over to the sidewalk building which I could lean against somewhat in shock. NO ONE was honking or bothered in the least that traffic was being blocked to help someone.

All you have to do is read the postings of the communists here to see that there isn't one chance in a million that Krygowski, Flunky, Liebermann or Scharf would let a stranger into their homes to save his life,

My mailbox and my emails are completely filled with letters asking for donations because I donated to every good cause before I retired and until I was remarried after I retired. Roger, I've no doubt that you too have donated to causes you believe in. Do you know who donates to the Democrat Party? They are required to give the source of their money and it isn't multiple small donations from normal people. That party is bought and paid for by billionaires that in return require legislative favors.

That means that people like Frank, Flunky Jeff and Scharf do NOT help anyone - even the parties they are allied with.

So what I said was nothing more than the truth - I had thought that all people would help anyone else under bad circumstances. But the Democrats do not - want proof? Look at the homeless.

It is only normal for you to be tired of my negativity. Is it your belief that I was negative before Bush and Obama? I wasn't even very negative with Clinton. We had good times during his Presidency regardless of how they were brought about. But then we had a major change and the Congress made it very clear that they couldn't care less WHAT the people wanted. They will hand out favors like candy to children. You are about to feel the impact of this in Holland and you think that I'm being negative because I don't want that? You don't want others looking out for the conditions around the world that are badly effected by the acts of the US government and their cronies that are happy to see this? Even the Wall Street Journal is now saying that we are heading into a deep recession that may even be a depression because of spending without control.

You can get on your bike and ride to forget your problems, you can read stories of people willing to take their own food and shelter and give to others. But what happens at the end of the ride when you go into the grocery store to see empty shelves and bankrupting prices. I am sorry that is negative, but it is reality.

As mentioned, my wife and I helped a young engineer flee communism and
apply for political asylum in the U.S. And while we can't do it now
because of medical issues, for decades we were Warm Shower hosts and
regularly housed touring cyclists, including a couple who used to post
to this forum before obnoxious people drove them away.

He didn't seem get political until he started discussing the Moderna partnership, though admittedly I only went back to view a few of his videos over the past several months. IT seemed to me the latest videos where he discusses the Moderna deal seem a bit out of character for the most part - more wonk than science.

I also noticed he seemed to cherry pick somewhat when he discussed myocarditis in his "yellow card" video - seeming to gloss over the risk of heart damage in young men who contracted covid vs those who had the vaccine, choosing instead to focus on vaccinated vs prepandemic myocarditis rates in young men. Not that his comparison wasn't valid, just that it doesn't seem to me to be as relevant as vaccinated vs infected. I recently accompanied my father to his cardiologist and asked him specifically about the risks of heart-related incidents in vaccinated younger male athletes (I was thinking of Sonny Cobrelli). He said he had read a number of the studies and his opinion was the risk of heart damage from getting covid was significantly greater than the risk of damage from the vaccine. He noted that any studies he had read on the risk associated with the vaccine varied only from statistically insignificant to slightly higher than pre-pandemic rates, depending on who did the study, how it was done, and when it was done. In the "Yellow Card" video Campbell was focusing exclusively on the line in the UK guidelines that suggested across the board vaccinations versus another line that noted "reports" of myocarditis in younger vaccinated men - no real statistical analysis was discussed other than a pre-pandemic rate from his desk reference manual. That just seemed sloppy.

He spent two video’s on a report that concluded that non vaccinated people had a higher risk to get involved in a car accident. Pfff.

LOL, I saw that too. My take is that it was correlation, not causation - that non-vaxed people exhibit high risk behaviours.
