I spent 45 minutes this morning m taking all of the 11 speed parts off of the Moser AX Leader. This was a positively great bike with one point against it - it would only take 25 mm tires. And lard ass me can only ride 28's. I did use 28's for many months but that caused several problems. If you were taking the wheels off you had to let the air out of the tires so that there was room to pull the rear wheel out.

It also had a problem that was common for awhile on carbon fiber bikes - they had minimal distance between the rear tire and the down tube. Especially on the filthy California roads the3 tire could pick up stones or other debris and stick them between the wheel and the down tube. I would have to jam the brakes on and then rapidly release them to get rid of that ungodly noise.

I suppose the European roads aer cleaner or perhaps not since the short wheelbase frames seemed to disappear pretty rapidly.

I had none of these problems with the 25 mm tires. Other than the harder ride with the 25's.

So I put the frameset up for sale. It is in better shape than when I got it since I did restore the worse missing paint. It wasn't sticking to the smoky chrome that was on the frame and fork. But there is a lot of spots where the ruse is breaking through the chrome as always happens on steel bikes. This can be prevented by using the old fashion way of chroming something using a tin plate then a copper or bronze plate followed by the chrome. But that adds a lot of weight and this Moser with the custom special seatpost and Silver Fillet Braze weighs only 3 kg exactly (also a Campy headset and cable guides.)

So I'm ready to assemble the Land Shark when it comes in Friday.

I've also been trying to find a complete Aluminum fork to replace the steel for on the Fondriest. That bike is another super handler but I have Record parts instead of Super Record and the Chinese wheels so it is a full lb heavier than the Tommasini.
