Did the ride today 59 miles no climb but never is where I live. Rides pretty smooth. r7000 shifts better than the 6800. The hydraulic brakes a first for me as a rider seemed fine. I set my rib brakes so no a lot of lever movement to engage and stop. These give me a little more pull to fully engage but wow pretty easy. By the end of the ride was not not think about the brakes so must be used to them. Rides like my Habanero road frame seemed really close. I adjusted the b screw so I can ride the 50/34 cog and it works fine. They set them up to not really do this and it is cross chaining but I use it once in awhile rather than go to the small ring. So far so good.

So, I don't think that it is any sort of a problem. Of course, you two are a great deal younger than I am so you may want to be perfectly aero.

Marks shifter are high up the handlebar. On the hoods it is like leaning against a wall. I don’t like that, or my wrists don’t like that. You often see that to compensate for a too stretched position. My Shimano shifters on my gravel bikes are posioned exactly the same as on my aero bike. Because of the weather, clear skies and a bit chilly still, today it was my first ride on my aero bike this season. Man, that bike fits me like a glove. Two things I notice every season on that first ride is my average speed increases 1-1.5 km/hr and rim brakes on CF rims suck compared to the disk brakes on my gravel bike I use for road rides in the winter.

Came out nice! Sucks you had to go through that weather for your first ride.

They are higher than mine which I’ve not moved from stock position on the
gravel bike though only just higher.

Nice looking bike!

I went a little faster than lately, but the weather was pretty perfect today. I am not rested so cannot jump on any huge gain for one ride. Naturally the bike is no faster but I do enjoy the way it rides. I think the hoods look higher up because of the larger profile with hydraulic brakes. In the drops I easily can reach the levers and the throw is a small movment. These r7000 are really smooth. The only thing I can say is that by the time I got home the seat post have moved a bit down and over not quite tight enough. I could see in drop just bit riding but did not want to stop the fix as long as it was small. So getting home I repositioned the seat and raised it that was after the picture. I snugged it down better but not gorilla tight. Ti and Al frame and post but I still prefer to have just enough to hold seat. No over torquing.

Did you go faster? Didn’t you go over the bars with your on-off powerful disk brakes? Just kidding. Shifters look positioned pretty high up.

I went out and looked at the Pro-Tour bikes and the difference between their levers and Mark's was as you would expect between a pro and a sport rider.. On some they were pretty close to identical. So, I don't think that it is any sort of a problem. Of course, you two are a great deal younger than I am so you may want to be perfectly aero.

Your Habanero looks very nice, Mark. I'll bet you are going to have a lot of fun with it.
