I like Ann Coulter, I really do. She's passionate and she is persuasive. But she has a nasty habit: she makes watertight arguments that close out further argument. For instance, I'd have loved it if her argument in the link below, about child deaths by firearms in America, was somewhat less all-encompassing, so that idiots like Franki-boy and his organ-monkey Flunky would be tempted to jump in and once more make fools of themselves. Oh well, it was a nice dream while it lasted.

You don't expect truth and logic to have any effect whatsoever on Flunky or Krygowski do you?

You know the difference between a liberal (not an American left-winger, a real liberal) and a conservative, Tom? A liberal still wants to believe that even foolish and bad people can be improved by argument and example, while a conservative knows that the effort is rarely worth the result. I guess I'm just an optimist who has lived in an ultra-low crime areas since I left New York half a century ago. -- AJ
