For some reason I am suddenly inundated with ads for the vseat on my social media.

Has this been discussed here? I didn't find anything on search.

https://thevseat.com/

If one of you gave them my info, please desist!

I know there are seat alternatives, and I've tried a couple, but not found one that's significantly better than what was on the bike.

Gee, thanks Tim. Now everyone in this forum is going to be inundated with Vseat ads.....

I regularly get ads from a variety of ignorant right-wing news sources - t0wnh@ll, n3wsm@x, 0@nn*....Likely because there are a couple of ignorant trolls in this forum that keep posting such links, much in the same way I get ads from @R15 superstores and pro-2nd amendment fear-mongers because of the links various people have placed in those discussions.

I recall a while ago in another forum I responded to a discussion about esperanto, and actually received a few ads in and about esperanto.

If you donate it gets worse. Right wing campaigns have realized they can sell their donor lists to alternative health product vendors for gazillions of dollars that don't count against campaign contributions. So if you get on one of those lists you will be besieged with ads for wacko anti-zombie cures etc. This is win-win for everybody. Campaigns get the dollars, and the quacks who sell these miracle cures get legislation that allows them to, and a source for gullible purchasers.

And certainly the same thing doesn't happen with left wing ads.

Can’t say I have had adverts but no google etc link guess could by IP
address.

Get some location stuff like recently was up in the Scottish Highlands, and
various adverts for Scottish this and that while there.

I'd imagine so. The only donations I make are to the USAC development fund and our local big brother/big sister charter. I've never made a political donation. Funny how the targets for fly-by-night cures and gadgets tend to be targeted towards those that are immersed in the right-wing news cycle.

I make a lot of political contributions, small but many.
Always have and not only in my area or State. Always and
only by US Mail with a stamp. I can't recall ever seeing a
political solicitation in my email from anyone.

It appears that Flunky is PO'd at people who work for a living and make real money. So he charges them with anything and everything.

I get email addressed to several people who share my surname (no, I
don't know them at all, and have no way of contacting them). I have to
guess that spammers just try shit at random, or have programs that do it
for them.

On the other hand, if I started getting email based on random links I
read on usenet I think I would stop messing around with google.

It stands to reason you wouldn't see email solicitations if you only contribute by snail mail - or was that your point?

1. Get a VPN 2. Report these general messages as SPAM. At least this won't show in your INBOX.

People like Flunky have been knocking Paypal because it was partly founded by Elon Musk and the far left are out to get Musk for telling the truth. There is nothing that evil hates more than truth. When Musk released the Twitter papers showing that the previous owners and the Biden administration were hiding the truth about almost everything their hatred for Musk multiplied by the thousands. And now that it has been shown that BLM was nothing but a tool of the FBI all of the deaths and the property destruction can be pinned directly on the Democrats.
