Ok, back after about six weeks since adding silica gel to two large zip
lock bags and keeping my SCTs within. I also added hygrometers and they
are reading 40% humidity in one bag, and 30% in the other. Time to
recharge the gel or are we still ok? I had hoped the gel charge would
last longer than it has, but maybe we are still good to go. Thanks.

The humidity really doesn't matter as long as you don't have
condensation. Which you really shouldn't for scopes stored indoors.
Personally, I'd consider storing them in sealed plastic bags to
represent an increase in the risk of mold or other condensation
issues.

Thank you! What I really like there is the drying box! I have so much
I could use that for, not only SCT OTA's but coins and a radiation
instrument called an ion chamber. All are sensitive to too much
humidity. I wouldn't have to worry about the silica gel anymore. Now
going to try and find some decent plans.
