I have my fully restored 1984 Basso Gap/Campy SR hanging on my wall. Other than that, I have too many bikes to keep one in the living room, and my shop is in the basement anyway so keeping any up there doesn't really make any sense. I like the thought process though. I do on occasion bring wheel rebuilding projects up into the livingroom so I can watch something on TV with my wife while getting something done - she doesn't mind as long as I clean everything up.
