But other then that small error the book does well in highlighting
life and to some extent local governments action in South East Asia.

Living in this part of the world I thoroughly enjoyed the book and
forgive him his broom errors (long handled brooms existed and were in
use in SEA long before the book was written (:-)

What do you think - do you believe that he thinks that because of a degree they would make him an officer and that he could then talk to enlisted me like he talks on here? Officers like him "accidently" got in the line of fire. And if they made him an enlisted man, they would have a blanket party every night of the week until he got a dishonorable discharge.
