Ok nice story:

Being fascinated by cars all his life and wanting to enter
into the world of racing, Rimac bought a 1984 BMW E30
323i at the age of 18 in 2006 as that seemed to be the
cheapest way to get into racing. After the gasoline
engine exploded during one race, he decided to turn
the car into an electric one, inspired by the innovations
of his idol Nikola Tesla. His peers mocked him for racing
with an electric car – for bringing a "washing machine"
to the race track.

I only got myself a gasoline used car a few
months ago, was much cheaper to buy than
something new and electric.

Yes, I guess only time will tell.

I bought a 2001 Dodge Dakota new for around 24000 dollars and that
works out to less than 100 dollars a month over the 21 years I have
used it so far. I'm hoping for similar longevity in the electric.

Actually, I'm hoping for that longevity for myself. :)

Rivian Automotive, which was valued by investors in
early 2021 at $27.6 billion.

He debuted his first two vehicles, an SUV and a pickup truck, at
the L.A. Auto Show in November 2018. They rolled the first electric

Ah, but the cool thing about this kind of race is that
when we cross one finish line, we're all off to

There are some other battery chemistries that are
big improvements over lithium-ion.

Graphene aluminum-ion batteries charge much faster, have
higher energy densityy, more charge cycles, are less toxic,
run cooler. Maybe 1000-mile cars?
