Well, I got it from two sources, ABC and the local small time newspaper, that Redwood Road was open again. So within the first five miles of leaving my house I I had close to 1000 feet of climbing as I entered Redwood Road. There was traffic both ways so I wasn't worried. But when I got to the "narrow bridge" which is just pass that entrance to a gravel quarry, there was a concrete barrier made of temporary barriers. I went around them figuring that perhaps they were waiting to open the road to traffic. There was fallen tree debris that they could be waiting to clean up. On the lower part of the climb the road had detached from the middle to the southern edge of the road. THAT appears to have been repaired leaving no traces including newer looking paved sections. That must have been repaired shortly after it collapsed in February in order for there to be no mixed colors. So I continued up the road looking at the road finish. There were repairs to the road here and there and most of the potholes had been repaired relatively recently. Then at 10 miles from my doorstep there was a 30 x 30 x 30 foot hole in the road. And it was in one of the worst possible places. I could have gotten around it and next week I will, but anyone coming down that hill and around that turn would be completely unable to stop in time to avoid going into that hole. So I hope that they have a good closure at the top. But that is also the entrance into a camping area that is still open to serve the homeless that are living in motorhomes. So even if they have a blocked off road at that point, I can still worm my way through the brush in the upper parking area and back out onto the open road. Now I could ride over Pinehurst to Moraga and return the same way, but I think that rather than that I will follow Redwood Road all the way to Skyline Dr. in Oakland and south on Skyline.. There is an immediate very steep climb up to Skyline High School but then it is all moderate rollers until I reach a large climb of some 200 feet at 9%. Over the top you have to be careful of the descent since there are a lot of potholes and tree roots causing dangerous bumps. Then a descent to a rather dangerous road that has a lot of homes on either side filled with broken down cars that pull out without warning. Then you hit Golf Links Rd which has a good finish on it and you have to watch for high speed golfer/drivers half lit up after the clubhouse after 18 holes. At the bottom of this road is a damn 12% approach to Mountain Blvd.

Crossing over this and under a freeway, you have to dodge traffic and get over into the left turn lane and go down a road that was last paved in the 1800's. At the bottom of this you traverse from Oakland into San Leandro and this is 3 1/2 miles to home though you have to be careful of the stupid traffic.

So that is the plan for next Tuesday. Today I returned from the major hole back to Castro Valley and then took a long cut to the donut shop and then home the long way. So now June is my longest mileage month and over the last 12 months I have climbed 175,000 feet. By the end of the mouth I will have at least another 5,000 feet on that and possibly 8,000. Time will tell.

Now here is a clear case of bullshit spread by the Slime Stream Media as well as a local rag that normally is pretty accurate. I assumed that they were talking about the 2017 damage to Redwood Road so checked again and it said that the road was opened June 11, 2023.

This is the sort of accuracy that I'm sure that you can expect about anything. Joseph Goebbels would be proud of the gullibility of the Stupid 4 and more and more people are becoming part of the great unwashed.

Public Works Agency - Alameda County
<https://www.acpwa.org/about-us/roadclosure.page?>
Redwood Road, from Redwood Canyon Golf Course to Marciel Park
This section remains closed indefinitely due to large sinkhole.

I couldn't find any announcements with Google search that Redwood Road
was open. Where did you see that announcement that it was open?

>>Well, I got it from two sources, ABC and the local small time newspaper, that Redwood Road was open again.

ABC news search for the last month:
<https://www.google.com/search?q=abc+news+redwood+road&tbs=qdr%3Am>
Nothing found.

ABC News and "local small time newspaper" seems rather vague. Could
you be a little less non-specific?

Original road closure notice from Jan 4, 2023:
<https://www.acpwa.org/acpwa-assets/docs/Press-Release/Redwood-Road-Closure-January-4-2023-New.pdf>
That looks bad.

They updated the road closures at the Public Works Department to something that is sensible. So we don't need no flogging media.

Near the bottom of the page, it says:
"*Page Updated on June 13, 2023"
which is 8 days ago.

Of course. You never saw or read anything under:
"Well, I got it from two sources, ABC and the local small time
newspaper, that Redwood Road was open again".
Oddly, you didn't mention anything about the county public works road
closure page in your previous posting.

Do you really think anyone will notice you or offer sympathy because
you are pretending to be a victim?

You live in Alameda County Supervorial District #3:
<https://www.acgov.org/board/documents/districtmap.pdf>
Lena Tam is the county supervisor for district #3:
<https://district3.acgov.org>
Please unload your road closure problems to her office or staff, not
in rec.bicycles.tech.

Incidentally, you misused the word "flogging".

Likely because he didn't know that the county public works had a website until he read your post.

Scharf, when was the last time, if ever, you rode Redwood Road? An eighth of a mile of that road over the golf course collapsed down into the creek and damming it,
turning the golf course into a flooded muddy mess. This must have been repaired almost immediately since that creek connects the San Leandro reservoir to Lake Chabot - the city's emergency water supply. I know that you believe yourself an expert at some things but you wouldn't know an expert if he you were giving him a blow job.

I suggest you keep your mouth shut about things you know nothing about which incudes everything from why you love queers to the price of donuts. Your life is over anyway since you were vaccinated and that means that you will slowly grow an immunodeficiency response until it kills you. Remember those 30% higher than average deaths with no connection to the SARS-Cov-2? Perhaps you'd like to explain to us why those you label as experts cannot understand that? Or maybe you'd like to tell us why the experts in every other country have stopped allowing children under 19 getting these vaccinations but the CDC continues to recommend vaccinations of children down to two? You are so stupid that you're the one that has been wearing the Tin Foil Hat and have been since you started posting here.

Amazing. Using little more than your fertile imagination and powers
of intuitive cognition, you were able to deduce that Redwood Road must
have already been repaired because the adjacent creek is essential to
San Leandro's emergency water supply.

I am told that Liebermann - one of life's big failures - who cannot and does not ride a bike and really never did, is telling us all about riding Redwood Road. Which I just negotiated last Tuesday. Isn't it comical that those that know that least talk the most?

I'm not telling you about riding Redwood Road. I was writing about
how Alameda county had declared the road closed until repairs can be
made.

Also, I really like how you tried to change the topic to Covid-19,
vaccinations, and such. Nice diversion, but I suggest you try
something else that hasn't been over-used.

I'm not talking. I'm writing. I can explain the difference if you
are unable to do so.

Nice of you to risk your life and bicycle attempting to prove that the
road was open. I'm honored.
