I would like to go down in history on the correct side of the equation.

Hmmmm... such a perfect opening I would hate to spoil it.

Is it an equation if one side is not 'correct'?

Indeed, and does it all really add up?

the question is relevant for your equation, worth checking

Then I'll spoil it.

I would rather be a numerator than a divisor.

I would rather be an exponent than base.

I would rather be of value than of argument.

----
I don't know where it lies, but I imagine a dictionary of
all the words which mathematicians HAVE NOT YET taken
from their non-technical use.

It's a short dictionary, more of a pamphlet, really.

I imagine it in a crumbling temple, days of travel from
any human habitation, guarded by leopards and crocodiles.

If it is ever discovered and brought home, fifteen
minutes after that, all of its entries will need to be
crossed out, as they will each be given new, technical
meanings by some mathematician somewhere. Bet on it.
