Once I had mice that would somehow get into the kitchen at night.
Put 2 not insulated wires about 10 cm away from each other connected to the 230 V mains and ground
on the kitchen floor.
Huge noise happened in the middle of the night, the mice left.

Later found the hole where they entered and closed it.

So 2 wires is all ye need.
Not sure if that changes reception a lot.

I take care of a neutered stray that was an exceptionally good hunter for
most of its life. Caught birds right and left. Totally spoiled on that good
food.

In winter, it makes use of a big yellow 35 pound "Tidy Cats" litter pale with
a fitting piece of Astroturf, under a heating pad, with clean paper towels
for bedding. The Astroturf allows easy dispersal of excess heat underneath.
It's almost 100% feral, except for knowing I feed it. Normally it would not
go into a box, but it LOVES that one. No doubt it's spent some ice-freezing
cold nights in its early years.

N mice in, N-1 mice out.

I've done the same, for neighborhood tomcats that would come in the
cat door and eat my cat's food. Used a 20 KV (at 20 ma?) neon-sign
transformer, controlled by a manual switch. If my cat is curled up on
her corner of the bed, and there are noises coming from the kitchen,
turn power on, then clap hands loudly.

When intruder attempts to leave through the cat door, bzzap! Intruder
bounces, ends up in a pile on the kitchen floor, confused.

Doesn't kill the intruding cat, but sure does get his undivided
attention.

After a while, open door and let now-wiser intruder escape. Never the
same cat twice.

It does, at least for that one mouse.
