I like Basso steel bikes so I always look at them while I am on Ebay. They recently put a "Basso Loto" on the page that most certainly is NOT a Basso Loto.

This may very well be a perfectly acceptable bike but it has a different fork than Basso used and rather than a seat tube lug, it is welded on.

The fork that they have is a very good fork since I have one of them in pieces right here in the computer room requiring brazing it together. I had intended on using my brothers rig but he got rid of it at some time and can't even remember having it. I tried using propane but it doesn't get hot enough and doesn't have a large enough flame.

There are local people that would put it together but I haven't gotten around to it since I hate driving down into south San Jose.

In any case while this Basso looks like a definite improvement over the latest Basso Loto I had, I don't believe that it is built by Basso at all but probably by a German maker. It appears to probably be better than the last issue of the Basso Loto I would rather they state clearly what is going on.

I've been fitted as a 60 cm for several years now.

That's a real Basso, the final version of Loto before they
went aluminum.

I think that I will sell my Land Shark and with the proceeds buy that Loto. The present Land Shark I have is FAR better than those presently for sale on Ebay.
