My wheel truing stand finally arrived yesterday after, according to
Amazon shipping, traveling up and down the east coast of the country
and ending up exactly where it started, about 70 miles from my front
door. Actually, I think the first one got lost or more likely stolen,
and they sent me a replacement. Whatever Amazon is or isn't, they are
defiantly reliable. I wonder if the person who stole it opened the
package and said, WTF is this?

I ordered the stand that looked to be the only one that would
accommodate my large diameter through_axle front wheels and didn't
cost what the Park Tools models cost. It was, as I expected, a
Chinese made piece of shit, but I can make it work, although the specs
said it was too wide. I figured I could modify it, but turns out it
wasn't too wide after all. Several small screws were missing, but I
dug through my spare screw drawer and found some that worked.

The spare twenty inch Catrike wheel arrived a couple of days ago and I
checked to be sure it would fit. So now, I'll put a disk and a tire on
it and start disassembling one old wheel to calculate the spoke
length.

Damned good fun.
