The Campy 11 speed lever on the Fondriest wouldn't work after I replaced the inner (front) cable After trying everything, I pulled the lever off and discovered that the inner cable end has to fit into the ratchet mechanism and if it isn't placed in there the ratchet spring interferes with the inner cable end and locks the mechanism up I did pull it tight when I installed it but it must have caught on the edge of the ratchet and not fit completely into place all is well that ends well. The new 1" headset works fine now, and the new front cable is properly located. The new carbon fiber fork makes the frameset weighs the same as the Fondriest X Status 15.5 and it rides good. The rain predicted for today until next Wednesday has been delayed until Sunday.so I will get a ride in tomorrow.

Since I had the time, I pulled the too long stem off of the Team Machine BMC and put a shorter stem on the fork So that the fit should be corrected. But tomorrow will tell. For some reason I have been constantly increasing the reach I should be around 30 inches and it was out to 31.5. Now I backed out to 29 and will increase it if necessary.

Gee, who would have thought the cable end has to seat into the ratchet mechanism?

Tommy, I suggest you go out and purchase a set of those new Campagnolo self-seating cables. You'll find them listed right alongside their non-stretch shifter cables.
