No tomato, though, in the Old World.
Where did she find the main ingredient for any meal that isn't a
fruit, salt?
While we are at that, interestingly, I just found out that tomato is a
fruit, actually. But, we are using it as a vegetable. Of course. You
don't salt fruits.

Wow, this is awesome support for Aquatic Ape/Coastal Dispersal.

You could even call it a prediction of Coastal Dispersal.

We know for a fact that they lived on the coast, exploited the sea,
because that's how they got everywhere from Africa to Australia.
So the only question we ever had was how/why any of them
ever moved inland.

Well. This is how.

Just think of something as common as a "Storm Surge."

people like to eat most every day, so even a couple of days worth
of a storm surge and you're looking for alternative eats. Plus your
beach is gone -- the one you're living on.

So, you're pushed inland a little by this storm surge, and you're
hungry, your food source is under that storm surge, but if you
come across one of these "Crystal Creeks" you're so fond of then
you can find much the same foods that you're used to eating.

You can find the foods you recognize as foods, the ones you
have always looked for... and they survive the exact same way
that they've always survived... consuming available foods then
moving on... following the stream the same way they followed
the coast.

What your "Find" here does is eliminate the need for any quantum
leaps.

It's not that one day, like 11am on a Tuesday, someone said, "Hey!
Let's stop eating shellfish, make spears and go chase some
antelope." Necessity drove them to new food sources and once
there...

Your "Crystal creeks" are unsustainable. They'll work as "A" food
source but as "The" food source you're going to exhaust them
in a relatively short time. The Eat-Then-Move-On lifestyle would
have doomed them. They'd either have to get back to the coast
quickly or, out of necessity, eat things that weren't part of their
traditional diet. And, once they figured out what they could eat
away from the water, they were free to go anywhere. They
could spread inland.

Survival advice from a WWII Japanese soldier: You can eat what
a monkey eats.

So after they were driven inland, driven to your "Crystal Streams,"
maybe they avoided death an inevitable by starvation by simply
observing what other animals were eating, and then eating that.

I don't know. I don't add salt, just pepper.

Botanical fruit, market vegetable.
Of course. You

Watermelon tastes sweeter when salted, it's the only food I put salt on.

No, it merely supports hominin forest floor life along shallow crystalline streams rather than specialized savannah, coastal, or arborial myths.

No. You're wrong.

You keep insisting at looking at things in a vacuum, as if they all exist
within their own separate universes. But it's all got to fit together. It
either works with what we know or it's useless... worthless.

Aquatic Ape is a fact. Coastal Dispersal is accepted, many claim proven.

Coastal dispersal predates so called moderns. It predated Heidelberg
man. It predates Neanderthals & Denisovan. It even predates Erectus.

So we have a mystery here. And it's not "Do modern people today ever
eat fresh water crabs. No. The mystery is the coastal dispersal we know
really happened, the Aquatic Ape ancestors which we all agree existed:

How/why did they result in inland populations all along their route.

In science as in real life, the pieces have to fit together. You, on the other
hand, have to view everything in isolation because that's the only way you
can find any room to speculate.

Everyone accepts coastal dispersal and come of them even realize that
requires Aquatic Ape -- our ancestors living along and exploiting the sea.
So the only real mystery here is how/why some of them were moving
inland, adapting to the inland environment.

That's it.

Unlike you believe, nobody is scratching their head & wondering if any
people alive today know how to fish or build domed huts...

OK, but not me.
That's not the point: nobody denies that.
The question is= how did this all evolve.
And the biological answer is obvious except for ridiculous kudu runners:
0) arboreal primates
1) Miocene aquarboreal hominoids,
google "aquarboreal ancestors"
2) early-Pleistocene "archaic" Homo, google
coastal dispersal Pleistocene Homo PPT",
3) late-Pleistocene wading H.sapiens, see video.
4) Holocene walking H.sapiens.

Nothing. I just explain the video in context of our past. You've put
this video in the context of our past, I just notice that this part
isn't in tune with it.
Your question is, like, I see in this video that somebody is preparing
meal, so what? "What" is that this showcases our past. So, I just said
that this tiny part isn't realistic in the context. But everything else
is, of course, no problem with that.

I do add salt, and I am not the only one (actually, you are the one
who is the only one). So, the question is very important, even, the most
important, and you should address it. No use in *acting* like the
question doesn't exist. It is the most important question. Maya's
civilization is built on salt trade (as far as I know). And I presume
that it isn't the only one. Actually, this should be the very common
practice, the very common reality of living in those times.

Good.
You've put

There were & are countless crabs & shrimp in crystal creeks.
They ate them with mushrooms, tubers, veggies & fruits.

Tomato is domesticated. They ate wild foods. I thought that was obvious.

No, many people avoid excess salt, it increases hypertension. Animals are .02% salt. Vegans need extra salt, so do extreme athletes. Many modern foods contain salt to preserve, I drain & rinse off the brine.

Animals such as deer, sheep, goats, cattle, and elephants make regular visits to the salt resources in nature to get the minerals they need like calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, iron, zinc, and sodium.

So, the question is very important, even, the most

Wow, you idiotically do it again, erase all context, intentionally try
to NOT fit the pieces together, even knowing I'm going to shame
you for it!

Aquatic Ape is fact. Everyone accepts coastal dispersal and
aquatic ape is integral the same way that evolution was integral
to Common Descent. If they were on the coast, if they were
following the coast then that's where they were living & eating.

They weren't carry any savannas on their backs...

So THAT is your context. THAT is where all your pieces must fit,
or you're just a spazz wasting everybody's time.

That's not true at all. What we see is people walking everywhere.

Human beings are walkers.

This is glaringly obvious, true, which is probably how you missed it.
