Hello...

More philosophy about economic Liberalism and about our world..

I am a white arab, and i think i am smart since i have also
invented many scalable algorithms and algorithms..

I think i am a philosopher and i will invite you to look at the following video:

L'EFFONDREMENT POLITIQUE QUI VIENT

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJVbSHdttbY

I think that the above video is too pessimistic, but i am a philosopher
that is optimistic, since i think that social-liberalism of President Emmanuel Macron government and of the Democrats in USA must be understood more, and what i really mean is that the economic Liberalism of social-liberalism is understanding the benefits of economic cooperation and collaboration, so in reality we can say that the actors in economy are not just actors of economic Liberalism that believes in Adam Smith philosophy about economy of: "Human egoism is the engine of the properity and happiness of nations", so then in reality there is like a tendency of seeking like a balance between cooperation or collaboration and competition and its egoism, so you can quickly notice it by the fact that today there is also economic actors like of Open source hardwares(like with the Open source Risc) and of Open source or free softwares and of actors that share ideas across nations and industries(and that needs the globalization phenomenon) that makes us more creative and that's good for economy, so i am also very optimistic about our world, since our humanity is progressing in an exponential way, and data and information in internet is growing in an exponential way, and our era of globalization has been characterized by the democratization of technology, democratization of finance, and democratization of information, and economies of scale resulted in the most affordable price of any product for the consumer without the manufacturer having to sacrifice profits(and this economies of scale needs globalization too) etc., so i think our world is becoming much more powerful and efficient.

More philosophy about Adam Smith and about Liberalism..

I think i am a philosopher and i will talk more about my philosophy:

I invite you to read the following about Emmanuel Macron's initial political positions:

https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=auto&tl=en&u=https%3A%2F%2Ffr.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FPositions_politiques_d%2527Emmanuel_Macron

So as you notice that Emmanuel Macron is a social-liberal like the american Democrats in USA, so notice that they believe in economic Liberalism of the philosopher and economist Adam Smith that said about economy the following:

"Human egoism is the engine of the properity and happiness of nations"

So Adam Smith justifies the pursuit of self-interest and egoism in economy, but i think i am a sophisticated philosopher and i don't
agree with Adam Smith, since my new way of doing in economy is called Coopetition not Liberalism, my new way of doing is called Coopetition since it seeks like a balance between cooperation (or collaboration) and competition, so i am taking the first four letters of cooperation and i am taking the six last letters of competition and both
of them compose the name of my new way of doing in economy that is called Coopetition, since i also think that Liberalism is too much violence since it is based on competition and egoism, so i think that my Coopetition is the right balance that avoids this too much violence of Liberalism, also i think that my Coopetition is more efficient for creativity, innovation, adaptability and speed of progress, and
here is also how i am explaining it:

More of my philosophy about egoism and competition and collaboration and cooperation..

I invite you to look at the following video:

Why is Communism So Appealing?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_0UAsaqaOc

I am not a communist, my political philosophy is different,
and i think my philosophy is better, and i am explaining it in
my below thoughts, i think that the philosophy of the philosopher and economist Adam Smith was lacking on efficiency, since he said that "Human egoism is the engine of the properity and happiness of nations" and i think it is not true, simply because creativity and innovation come not only from competition and its egoism, but they also come from ideas circulating and combining across nations and industries(so they need globalization), but egoism of competition is too much extremism that hurts because it has also the tendency to make ideas not circulating and combining efficiently across nations and industries, so my philosophy says that we have to seek like a balance between competition and collaboration or cooperation, and this needs also collaboration and cooperation by sharing ideas and sharing knowledge and sharing PhD papers and sharing open source softwares etc. and here is my new philosophy and model, read it carefully in my following thoughts:

More philosophy about the Scottish and economist and philosopher called Adam Smith..

I invite you to look at the following video about Adam Smith:

ADAM SMITH - La main invisible

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OIvtWvDkkVk

You can read about Adam Smith here:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_Smith

I think that i am a philosopher that is smart, and i say that
the philosopher and economist Adam Smith was not right by saying the following(you
can listen to it in the above video):

"Human egoism is the engine of the properity and happiness of nations"

I think that Adam Smith is not right by saying so, since my new philosophy and model says that you have to seek like a balance between collaboration or cooperation and competition(and egoism comes
from competition), my philosophy says that innovation and creativity
not only come from competition but it also come from ideas circulating and combining across nations and industries(so they need globalization),
so in my philosophy creativity and innovation needs also collaboration and cooperation by sharing ideas and sharing knowledge and sharing PhD papers and sharing open source softwares etc. and here is my new philosophy and model:

My today talk is about white supremacism and neo-nazism and the far-right and nationalism.

So the first philosophical question is how to talk about
those above ideologies?

I think that it is also like a Mensa IQ test, so since i think i am smart, i have to use my smartness to solve the Mensa IQ test, so when you are smart, so how can you solve the problem(that is like a Mensa IQ test) of those above ideologies ? i think that i have first to detect the important pattern with my fluid intelligence, and i have to see clearly the pattern(like for example getting into the details from the abstraction of the pattern), and the important pattern is the following:

Notice that it is like an optimization problem of artificial intelligence that looks like PSO(Particle Swarm Optimization), it is what we call Swarm intelligence, and in PSO(Particle Swarm Optimization) there is what we call local optimization that we call exploitation, and there is what we call global optimization that we call exploration(read about PSO in my thoughts below so that to understand), so if PSO is not balanced correctly with exploitation and exploration it can not converge to the global optimum, we say that PSO has to guarantee the optimal convergence, so if it is not correctly balanced with both exploitation and exploration it can get stuck in a local maximum and not to converge to global optimum, so then notice that with logical analogy, exploration and exploitation of PSO(Particle Swarm Optimization) is in philosophy like seeking the right balance between individualism and collectivism that guarantees the optimal convergence like in PSO, or it is like seeking the right balance between collaboration and competition that guarantees the optimal convergence like in PSO, so then since the above ideologies are nationalism and nationalism is too much local optimization and lack of global optimization , it is too much competition and lack of collaboration or cooperation, so it is by logical analogy like too much exploitation and lack of exploration in PSO, so this is not good and here is how to notice it , read the following:

Read the following article about economic nationalism:

Rise of Economic Nationalism and Its Implications

https://www.lewisu.edu/experts/wordpress/index.php/rise-of-economic-nationalism-and-its-implications/

Notice that it says the following:

"Countries benefit with cooperation between countries to mutual benefit, becoming too nationalistic at the expense of its partners is counterproductive. It is an approach that creates conflict. Being more nationalistic tends to be a zero sum game in an increasingly interdependent world economy, where countries depend on other countries for their economic and political and national security well being. When companies cooperate, they can become more competitive. When they are more competitive, they hire more workers, pay higher salaries, and otherwise contribute to economic growth. Economic nationalism is a bad policy."

So a you are noticing that nationalism is not the right way to do.

This is why i also said the following:

More political philosophy about globalization and nationalism..

I am a white arab and i think i am more smart, so today i will
talk about a very important subject about Globalization and nationalism,
so i will invite you to look at the following video of Marine Le Pen of
the far-right political party in France:

Marine Le Pen explains why nationalism is important

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNpI9wKnE8Q

As you notice that Marine Le Pen is saying in french that the
fight today is between nationalism and globalization, since
Marine Le Pen says that globalization is a treat to national
identity and is a treat to national sovereignty, but i think that Marine Le Pen is not understanding correctly globalization, since i think that nationalism is too much competition and communism and socialism is too much collaboration , so i think the best way is to seek like a balance between collaboration and competition and when we look
at globalization you will notice that we are collaborating with others by for example sharing Open Source softwares or Free softwares or PhD papers or knowledge on internet etc, and we are also competition by not collaborating with others, and with this new kind of model we are noticing that we are not just one identity like being french, but we are becoming multiple identities because this kind of new model is making a part of us that collaborate "universal", and this is why i think that Marine Le Pen is not understanding correctly this new kind of model of like seeking a balance between competition and collaboration , and i think that this new model is better because it is more efficient , because i think this partly collaboration of this new model is good and more efficient for creativity, innovation, adaptability and speed of progress, i also think in capitalism the price of internet has gotten cheap and the price of computers has gotten cheap, so we are able today to access internet with a low price and benefit from "collaboration" and also sharing in internet, for example look at me, i have invented many scalable algorithms and i have decided to share some of them with the others, and it is of course collaboration , so look for example at my following inventions of scalable algorithms that i have shared with others, here they are:

https://sites.google.com/site/scalable68/scalable-mlock

https://sites.google.com/site/scalable68/scalable-reference-counting-with-efficient-support-for-weak-references

https://sites.google.com/site/scalable68/scalable-rwlock

https://sites.google.com/site/scalable68/scalable-rwlock-that-works-accross-processes-and-threads

https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/comp.programming.threads/VaOo1WVACgs

https://sites.google.com/site/scalable68/an-efficient-threadpool-engine-with-priorities-that-scales-very-well

Also i have decided to not share others of my scalable algorithms and it is competition, so i am seeking like a balance between collaboration and competition.

I invite you to read the following interesting article:

Collective intelligence is the root of human progress

https://singularityhub.com/2017/10/16/collective-intelligence-is-at-the-root-of-human-progress/

And i invite you to read my thoughts of my philosophy here:

https://groups.google.com/g/alt.culture.morocco/c/YZSYxV41-qI

And i invite you to read more of my thoughts of my philosophy here:

https://groups.google.com/g/comp.programming.threads/c/OjDTCDiawJw

Yet more precision about more philosophy of where is Love ?

I think i am smart and i say that we are constructing Love,
look at the fact that economies of scale resulted in the most affordable price of any product for the consumer without the manufacturer having to sacrifice profits, it is also Love, and economies of scale have permitted great things, since they permit you to become much more powerful and they also permit you to become rich or immaterially rich, since look also how the price of accessing internet has become very low, this has permitted you to access youtube and learn from youtube and from internet at a very low price, and it is a great thing that has happened to humanity, since i think that internet is by analogy like multitasking and interaction of many many human brains that resulted or results in something really big and really great, so internet also contains the smartness of many many brains and internet contains a lot of data and data of internet is growing exponentially and it is good for artificial intelligence, and you have to know how to be selective by efficiently using the right tools so that to search efficiently internet and so that to learn from it. But you have also to know more about education and the forms of human communication, so i I think that our societies are experiencing many changes, among the many changes is that we are using multimedia way of communicating like youtube, but if you notice carefully this way of such youtube way is a form of human communication that looks like an oral tradition that lacks good and precise thinking and precise writing, so i think that we have to be careful since i think that we have to "master" more the way of good and precise thinking
and precise writing so that to adapt correctly and efficiently,
so there is a "distinction" to be made about the form of human communication, since i think that the form of good and precise thinking and precise writing by also using hypertext and hyperlinks is the way to go. So notice below how i am thinking and writing my philosophy with
a much more efficient way of doing since it is technical and it is a much more efficient and precise way of thinking and writing. This is why i have also just said the following:

More of my philosophy about the hyperlink and hypertext revolution and the web..

I think the best things that have happened to internet is
the exponential growth of data and information on internet(and it is good for artificial intelligence) and the how it is organized efficiently, i mean this hypertext and hyperlink way of organizing information on internet is "so" powerful and i think it is what have revolutionized internet, here is the definition of hyperlink:

"A hyperlink is a word, phrase, or image that you can click on to jump to a new document or a new section within the current document. Hyperlinks are found in nearly all Web pages, allowing users to click their way from page to page."

So this is why you have to be optimistic since i am also organizing my
thoughts of my philosophy and political philosophy more efficiently in an hyperlink way too, but i will organize them much more efficiently as a pdf and html book and you will be able to download them from my website.

So i am very optimistic about our world, since our humanity is progressing in an exponential way, and data and information in internet is growing in an exponential way, and our era of globalization has been characterized by the democratization of technology, democratization of finance, and democratization of information, and economies of scale resulted in the most affordable price of any product for the consumer without the manufacturer having to sacrifice profits(and this economies of scale needs globalization too) etc.., so i think our world is becoming much more powerful and efficient.

More philosophy about Economics and scalability and productivity and quality..

I invite you to read the following interesting paper because it is
so important:

Tipping the scales in AI: How leaders capture exponential returns

https://www.mckinsey.com/industries/technology-media-and-telecommunications/our-insights/tipping-the-scales-in-ai

I have just read the above paper and i have understood it and i will talk more about something really important: In economics, economies of scale resulted in the most affordable price of any product for the consumer without the manufacturer having to sacrifice profits, and in Microeconomics there is a so important thing that we call Diminishing Marginal Returns in Economies of Scale, and it is a so much important thing, since the most important in it is that you have to know how to "avoid" this Diminishing Marginal Returns in Economies of Scale, and i have invented sophisticated tools to do it, also i have invented
many many scalable algorithms and algorithms and i am still inventing
scalable algorithms and algorithms and i am also inventing other sophisticated software tools and softwares.

You can read more about Diminishing Marginal Returns in Economies of Scale here:

Economies of Scale

https://courses.lumenlearning.com/suny-microeconomics/chapter/economies-of-scale/

Also there is a so much important thing that we call "scalability",
and in economy you have to know how to "scale" efficiently productivity, but you have to scale efficiently productivity by avoiding the above problem of Diminishing Marginal Returns in Economies of Scale, and here is what i am a saying about the scalability of productivity:

I have also just posted about the following thoughts from the following PhD computer scientist:

https://lemire.me/blog/about-me/

Read more here his thoughts about productivity:

https://lemire.me/blog/2012/10/15/you-cannot-scale-creativity/

And i think he is making a mistake:

Since we have that Productivity = Output/Input

But better human training and/or better tools and/or better human smartness and/or better human capacity can make the Parallel productivity part much bigger that the Serial productivity part, so it can scale much more (it is like Gustafson's Law).

And it looks like the following:

About parallelism and about Gustafson’s Law..

Gustafson’s Law:

• If you increase the amount of work done by each parallel
task then the serial component will not dominate
• Increase the problem size to maintain scaling
• Can do this by adding extra complexity or increasing the overall
problem size

Scaling is important, as the more a code scales the larger a machine it
can take advantage of:

• can consider weak and strong scaling
• in practice, overheads limit the scalability of real parallel programs
• Amdahl’s law models these in terms of serial and parallel fractions
• larger problems generally scale better: Gustafson’s law

Load balance is also a crucial factor.

So read my following thoughts about the Threadpool to notice that my Threadpool that scales very well does Load balance well:

About the Threadpool..

I have just read the following:

Concurrency - Throttling Concurrency in the CLR 4.0 ThreadPool

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/archive/msdn-magazine/2010/september/concurrency-throttling-concurrency-in-the-clr-4-0-threadpool

But i think that both the methodologies from Microsoft of the Hill Climbing and of the Control Theory using band pass filter or match filter and discrete Fourier transform have a weakness, there weakness is that they are "localized" optimization that maximize the throughput , so they are not fair, so i don't think i will implement them, so then you can use my following invention of an efficient Threadpool engine with priorities that scales very well (and you can use a second Threadpool for IO etc.):

https://sites.google.com/site/scalable68/an-efficient-threadpool-engine-with-priorities-that-scales-very-well

And here is my other Threadpool engine with priorities:

https://sites.google.com/site/scalable68/threadpool-engine-with-priorities

And read my following previous thoughts to understand more:

About the strategy of "work depth-first; steal breadth-first"..

I have just read the following webpage:

Why Too Many Threads Hurts Performance, and What to do About It

https://www.codeguru.com/cpp/sample_chapter/article.php/c13533/Why-Too-Many-Threads-Hurts-Performance-and-What-to-do-About-It.htm

Also I have just looked at the following interesting video about Go scheduler and Go concurrency:

Dmitry Vyukov — Go scheduler: Implementing language with lightweight concurrency

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-K11rY57K7k

And i have just read the following webpage about the Threadpool of microsoft .NET 4.0:

https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/jennifer/2009/06/26/work-stealing-in-net-4-0/

And as you are noticing the first web link above is speaking about the strategy of "work depth-first; steal breadth-first" , but we have to be more smart because i think that this strategy, that is advantageous for cache locality, works best for recursive algorithms, because a thread is taking the first task and after that the algorithm is recursive, so it will put the childs tasks inside the local work-stealing queue, and the other threads will start to take from the work-stealing queue, so the work will be distributed correctly, but as you will notice that this strategy works best for recursive algorithms, but when you you iteratively start many tasks, i think we will have much more contention on the work-stealing queue and this is a weakness of this strategy, other than that when it is not a recursive algorithm and the threads are receiving from the global queue so there will be high contention on the global queue and this is not good. MIT's Cilk and Go scheduler and the Threadpool of Microsoft and Intel® C++ TBB are using this strategy of "work depth-first; steal breadth-first". And as you are noticing that they are giving more preference to cache locality than scalability.

But in my following invention of a Threadpool that scales very well i am
giving more preference to scalability than to cache locality:

https://sites.google.com/site/scalable68/an-efficient-threadpool-engine-with-priorities-that-scales-very-well

Other than that when you are doing IO with my Threadpool, you can use asychronous IO by starting a dedicated thread to IO to be more efficient, or you can start another of my Threadpool and use it for tasks that uses IO, you can use the same method when threads of the my Threadpool are waiting or sleeping..

Other than that for recursion and the stack overflow problem you can convert your function from a recursive to iterative to solve the problem of stack overflow.

Other than that to be able to serve a great number of internet connections or TCP/IP socket connections you can use my Threadpool with my powerful Object oriented Stackful coroutines library for Delphi and FreePascal here:

https://sites.google.com/site/scalable68/object-oriented-stackful-coroutines-library-for-delphi-and-freepascal

And enhancing productivity is also related to my following powerful product that i have designed and implemented(that can also be applied to organizations):

https://sites.google.com/site/scalable68/universal-scalability-law-for-delphi-and-freepascal

Please read the following about Applying the Universal Scalability Law to organisations:

https://blog.acolyer.org/2015/04/29/applying-the-universal-scalability-law-to-organisations/

And you can read more about my thoughts here:

https://groups.google.com/g/comp.programming.threads/c/OjDTCDiawJw

And I invite you to read the following article:

The Secret Behind Silicon Valley’s Enduring Success

https://singularityhub.com/2012/07/12/the-real-secret-behind-silicon-valleys-success/

And i have just detected with my smartness the pattern in the above article, and it is that success of a country comes from: A good education system and from talents and from capital and from from attracting the smartest immigrants.

But i think i am smart and i have to be fine-grained and show you more the important details, so read my following thoughts so that to understand:

And look at the following video:

Why Israel is a Tech Capital of the World

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RuPx61911Oo

I think that this jewish from Israel that is talking in the above video is not thinking correctly, because there is two important things that you must have so that a country be successful: Capital and talents, the above video is making a mistake by saying that you need the two so that
to be successful, i mean it is saying that you need Capital and talents, but i think he is making a mistake, because i think that Capital can attract talents, so Capital can make you successful as a country, so then i can logically infer that so that to have capital that make you successful, you have to know how to construct a product or services that you can sell from those competitive advantages of competitive part or parts of product or service that can come from you or/and can come from different countries of the global world, and it is i think an efficient way that makes you adapt quickly and efficiently in this globalization, and notice with me that having competitive part or parts of a product or service doesn't mean it has to come from R&D(Research and development),
also the above video of the jewish from Israel is not saying that Capital can come from "democratization" of finance, since
you have to know that our global world has changed very much by being democratization of technology, democratization of finance, and democratization of information, read my following thoughts so that you also understand that Capital also comes from democratization of finance:

More about "democratization" of finance..

This "democratization" of finance is also for Research and Development (R&D))..

And look at the following "democratization" of finance so that to understand:

The 4 tools making capital more abundant than it’s ever been

Read more here:

https://singularityhub.com/2018/07/19/the-4-tools-making-capital-more-abundant-than-its-ever-been/

About democratization of digital technology and technology and Research and Development (R&D) investment

This is also why i said the following:

Look at the following interesting video:

Can South Korea lead global innovation in Fourth Industrial Era?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUw8gCShEcI

But i think that this minister of education, science and technology
of south Korea looks somewhat archaic since he is not taking correctly
into account the democratization of digital technology and Technology that permits you to economically grow very rapidly and much cheaply than using "expensive" Research and Development (R&D) investment, so i think that he is not correctly adapting to the realities, because the economic realities have very much changed, since also our era of globalization has been characterized by the democratization of technology, democratization of finance, and democratization of information.

Here is more proof of what i am saying:

2. Question: What do you mean by “Democratizing Innovation”?

Eric von Hippel:

The tools for designing high-quality innovations are getting so cheap and so ubiquitous that individuals can innovate for themselves at a steadily higher quality and at a steadily decreasing cost. These sophisticated modern tools are computer-based, and require relatively little training and practice. As a result, even hobbyist users find they can use them to design new products and services.

Read more here:

Democratizing Innovation: The Shift of Innovation to Users

https://www.ideaconnection.com/interviews/00010-Democratizing-Innovation-The-Shift-of-Innovation.html

I have just talked before about the importance of the following
statement in business:

"The focus should be on the product, since if the product is good
the profits will follow"

But notice that it is saying that if the product is good then the
profits will follow, so as you are noticing we have to define what
is a good product ? and does a good product only comes from science or from engineering? not at all !, since the product can become good by the process of creativity, and then we have to define creativity, and creativity needs globalization, since creativity and innovation come from ideas circulating and combining across nations and industries, and i invite you to read about what is creativity in the following interesting web page from Yale university:

What Is Creativity?

https://insights.som.yale.edu/insights/what-is-creativity

More philosophy about Canada and its education system..

I am living in Canada since year 1989, and i think Canada is the best country in the world, and here is the logical proof of it: Read the following about Canada to notice it:

Canada is the No. 1 Country in the World, According to the 2021 Best Countries Report

https://www.usnews.com/info/blogs/press-room/articles/2021-04-13/canada-is-the-no-1-country-in-the-world-according-to-2021-best-countries

And the education system of Canada is one of the best in the world, read the following to notice it:

How Canada became an education superpower

https://www.bbc.com/news/business-40708421

And to know more about USA, read my following writing:

More philosophy about USA and its education system..

I invite you to look carefully at this 9 minutes video of Michio Kaku
an American theoretical physicist, and he explains something really
important to know about USA:

Michio Kaku: US has the worst educational system known to science

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fphPeRvhjQ

Here is more proof, read my following writing about USA:

Let's look for example at USA, so read the following from Jonathan Wai that is a Ph.D., it says:

"Heiner Rindermann and James Thompson uncovered that the “smart fraction” of a country is quite influential in impacting the performance of that country, for example, its GDP."

And it also says the following:

"“According to recent population estimates, there are about eight Chinese and Indians for every American in the top 1 percent in brains.” But consider that the U.S. benefits from the smart fractions of every other country in the world because it continues to serve as a magnet for brainpower, something that is not even factored into these rankings.

What these rankings clearly show is America is likely still in the lead in terms of brainpower. And this is despite the fact federal funding for educating our smart fraction is currently zero. Everyone seems worried Americans are falling behind, but this is because everyone is focusing on average and below average people. Maybe it’s time we started taking a closer look at the smartest people of our own country."

Read more here:

https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/finding-the-next-einstein/201312/whats-the-smartest-country-in-the-world

So as you are noticing it's immigrants(and there are about eight Chinese and Indians for every American in the top 1 percent in brains) that are making USA a rich country.

And read also the following to understand more:

Why Silicon Valley Wouldn’t Work Without Immigrants

There are many theories for why immigrants find so much success in tech. Many American-born tech workers point out that there is no shortage of American-born employees to fill the roles at many tech companies. Researchers have found that more than enough students graduate from American colleges to fill available tech jobs. Critics of the industry’s friendliness toward immigrants say it comes down to money — that technology companies take advantage of visa programs, like the H-1B system, to get foreign workers at lower prices than they would pay American-born ones.

But if that criticism rings true in some parts of the tech industry, it misses the picture among Silicon Valley’s top companies. One common misperception of Silicon Valley is that it operates like a factory; in that view, tech companies can hire just about anyone from anywhere in the world to fill a particular role.

But today’s most ambitious tech companies are not like factories. They’re more like athletic teams. They’re looking for the LeBrons and Bradys — the best people in the world to come up with some brand-new, never-before-seen widget, to completely reimagine what widgets should do in the first place.

“It’s not about adding tens or hundreds of thousands of people into manufacturing plants,” said Aaron Levie, the co-founder and chief executive of the cloud-storage company Box. “It’s about the couple ideas that are going to be invented that are going to change everything.”

Why do tech honchos believe that immigrants are better at coming up with those inventions? It’s partly a numbers thing. As the tech venture capitalist Paul Graham has pointed out, the United States has only 5 percent of the world’s population; it stands to reason that most of the world’s best new ideas will be thought up by people who weren’t born here.

If you look at some of the most consequential ideas in tech, you find an unusual number that were developed by immigrants. For instance, Google’s entire advertising business — that is, the basis for the vast majority of its revenues and profits, the engine that allows it to hire thousands of people in the United States — was created by three immigrants: Salar Kamangar and Omid Kordestani, who came to the United States from Iran, and Eric Veach, from Canada.

But it’s not just a numbers thing. Another reason immigrants do so well in tech is that people from outside bring new perspectives that lead to new ideas.
