The Wall Street Republicans badly need for Trump to be unable to run in
2024 for any reason: prison, illness, death by natural causes. But a
sex scandal? ("Again?")

I agree. Trump is a dim bulb about many things, but he's got his base
sized up perfectly. When he said he could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue
and he wouldn't lose any followers, he was right on the money. They'd
just say the victim must have had it coming. Trump didn't lose any
pious fundamentalists over his history of adultery, "grab 'em by the
pussy," allegations of rape, cozying up to Jeffrey Epstein, paying off a
porn star, and in all likelihood partying with prostitutes in Moscow.
The base sees these things as pluses, not minuses.
