What's it like to be such a eunuch to think things that are available
are "being forced down your throat"? Do you have to be so fucking
stupid that you think you've "literally driven off a cliff" perhaps?

I shudder to think what he's "forcing down his throat" in their stead.

Our local grocery store has a cooler full of "plant based protein" aka
fake burgers. It's right across the aisle from the milk coolers so
they obviously intend people to see it!

Each year I'm seeing more of those plant based protein products so I
assume someone is buying them. Though I can't say I've ever seen
anyone pick one up but the stores wouldn't keep carrying them if none
of them sold. They even had one of the veggie burgers on sale and in a
prime location when I went to the store this morning.

Normal people didn’t want that shit even during the height of the covid paranoia.

I don't know about "each year" since I've only seen this stuff in the
last 12-18 months but no question directly accross the aisle from the
milk section is highly visible even if it's in the back row of the
store. (As in many grocery stores they place the milk at the very back
to get people to walk past most of the center of the store just like
they put the lunch meats at the very back of the meat section and the
breads at the rear of the produce section)

In my case it's all in the frozen goods aisle. So we have the ice
cream on one side and then the other aisle starts with the pizzas then
on to various other goods. There's at least 5 different products there
based on the plant - meat replacements. Then in the center aisle they
have their sale items which seems to include some veggie burger at
least once a month. They also have a couple of other products back in
meat areas of the store.

Go back a few years and you would only find one product for sale and
before that none. Beyond Meats apparently started up in 2012 in the
USA but it took them years before I saw them in my local store.
Apparently they started out in 2012 in Whole Foods with a Chicken-Free
Strips product.

There used to be a big place around here named Consumer Food Warehouse,
or something similar to that. They closed off the ends of every other
aisle so you'd have to thread your way past everything in the store to
get to a register. The register access point, I guess you'd call it,
was in the corner of the store opposite the entrance. You couldn't
just run in and pick up some milk and bread.

I guess it was a good place to buy stuff if you were running an
orphanage.

Any store that tried to do that with me would (a) get me there once
and only once (b) telling all my friends about the horrible experience
I'd had and (c) doing the same thing online.

Anybody that forces me to buy their way and ONLY their way had BETTER
be selling almost FREE (and I >don't< mean 10% off already inflated
prices)

There's one dollar store I avoid as I often get what I need in 5
minutes then get stuck for 20-30 checking out.

That was pretty much my game plan. I told everybody I knew about it,
and of course I never went back.
