Is "Decima" another nickname for one of your past conquests? That would almost make sense of the poem's title (if the poem were even remotely akin to a Decima).

Do you think that a "rod" is some sort of projectile? An arrow, perhaps? It's actually a wooden club.

How would a weapon screen (filter) film from an abyss? Why, for that matter, would an abyss be filmy to begin with?

And, since an abyss would be, by definition, "bottomless" (or seemingly so), where is the light coming from? And how does one bring mist to a level?

AFAICS, a woman (inexplicably nicknamed "Decima") is being asked to aim her wooden club at an abyss in order to filter out some of the mist, and to bring said mist to a "level."

If that doesn't make a lick of sense, it's because half of the words you've chosen to use don't quite mean what you think them to.

I'm afraid that you're way over your head in this one, Donkey. As always, you need to stick to monosyllabic words -- and, even then, only with proper supervision.

"Nests of ghosts in a webbed beam" is an excellent line. It makes no sense in relation to any other portion of the poem (except, possibly that which immediately follows), but it's one of your better thought fragments.

"Born illuminated and queer" is unintentionally funny in today's environment -- but even if we can get over the homosexual implications, the idea of ghosts being "born queer" remains laughable.

Are you telling the "fate infinity mirror" to shake? Or does the mirror display reflections of "shake fate (whatever that might be) infinity"?

Once again, we're presenting with a string of thought fragments that appear to be connected by only the slightest form of word association.

The basic narrative (and calling it a "narrative" is a profound act of charitability on my part) runs as follows:

The speaker is purportedly writing a 10-line, non-repetitive version of a Decima for a woman he has nicknamed "Decima." He calls on her to aim her wooden club at an abyss in order to filter out some of the mist, and to bring said mist to a "level." In the lingering afterimage of a dream, he sees 1/10th of a dead Norse language. In the meantime, illuminated LGBT ghosts are spotted in a nest within the abyss. One of these ghosts is the "light child of Chaos" -- revealed when the infinite mirror of fate is shaken. (FYI, I've just done you a solid by handing you the phrase "infinite mirror of fate" on a silver platter.) The speaker has imagined all the above while taking a nighttime swim with one of the Fates whom he is measuring (36-24-36) in a calm, dispassionate manner.

That's the only thing that even begins to make any sense of it.

I'm sure that your "mystical" vision struck you as a profoundly moving experience at the time, however, to the average reader (even one familiar with drug-induced "revelations"), it's a rambling and incoherent glob of gobbledygook served up at a party one would do anything to leave.

Maybe I'll repost some of my comments on Horatio's poetry, he seemed to find some of them helpful.
