After talking to Bill Shatner on his birthday, I watched:

VANDERPUMP RULES:
"Kiss Kiss, Revenge Bang". Schwartz makes a startling revelation to Lala
about a past hookup that sends Katie spiraling. James hosts a DJ night at
Hotel Ziggy, but when Schwartz brings non-girlfriend Jo, the other girls give
her the cold shoulder. Ariana and Katie encounter new issues in opening their
sandwich shop. Brock drops a bombshell about a more recent liaison that
shocks the entire group.

So it appears I was right about it being Schemer that Shwartz "made out with"
in Vegas circa 2013. I was more annoyed with the game of telephone than the
actual deed.

Go away, Billie Lee, and quit setting Sandoval up with your trans famewhore
friends.

Arianna, Katie, and LaLa looked gross at Hotel Ziggy. In Katie and Arrianna's
case, it reflected their inner selves. Why the hell are these girls being
mean to Jo? BTW, Schemer, Jo didn't do her own hair.

At this point, I realized I had more important things to do, like book a
flight to a funeral next month.

While on the phone, I noticed Katie and Arrianna being rude to Shwartz and
Sandoval, respectively, then Brock tell Shwartz that Katie banged his friend
who was on the show for one season. Wow, when did LaLa become the voice of
reason?

Next week, blah blah blah...

What did you watch?

Batwoman on MST3K
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt21362136/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk
This was one of the newer episodes, and it was offensively bad. Crow is the
only male cast member. The rest of it was women doing silly, squeaky,
voices and terrible jokes about purses and stuff.

NCIS, OWM
Henpecked McGee’s nasty fish wife keeps calling him at work screeching at
him to check out his DNA test results for no reason except that she’s a
horrible horrible woman. It turns out he has a half sister that we see a
picture of but never meet, that was the product of a sperm donation by his
father, which seems awfully out of character. The only upside was that
they actually mentioned his full sister the pretty little liar bitch for
the first time in 20 years.
The rest of it involved Knight’s annoying father (who knew she was supposed
to be Chinese?).

MURDOCH MUSICAL MYSTERIES
Yes, it’s the all singing and dancing episode of Murdoch that comes across
as a fifth rate copy of PSYCH. They spend way way way too much time
explaining why we’re watching singing and dancing when they should’ve just
gotten on with it.

CSI HORATIO
One of my FAST live channels showed the finale (Cali adopts? That was the
big finish?) Followed by the series pilot (Kim Delaney was a real schiz).

I think I saw this maybe once around the time of the original release.
I'm not a fan of Ace Ventura, but I might be willing to give the two
movies a second chance one day.

> What did you watch?

This is a two day catch-up. I mostly did some DVR clearing and watched:

Survivor - They didn't even bother to do a proper vote to get rid of
that one whiny guy. At one point I thought that's not fair if they were
planning to blindside someone else. But then, no they wanted that dude
gone! And were very open about it. How did he even get on the show?!?

Law & Order franchise - I'm all caught up.

Night Court - Episode from last week with the British.

9-1-1 - I caught up with the first two episodes of season 7 now on ABC.
They had a funny meta opening with Athena telling a story of her
childhood watching "The Poseidon Adventure" on ABC then looks at the
camera and comments on how Shelley Winters did not win the Oscar for
Best Supporting Actress. But to get everyone up to Speed on this
two-parter, Athena and Bobby take a cruise for their honeymoon. The
ship then comes Under Siege by terrorists or pirates or drug dealers or
whatevers. Bad people with guns! The terrorist want Athena to Die
Hard, but she turns out to be Hard to Kill.

"Why do you have zip ties?"
"Because they wouldn't let me bring my cuffs on the boat."

His back story was really good. Sadly he tended to fall apart as time
went by. I don't know that they could have known he would do so poorly
in the actual game.

I know I would do horrible in the game. I don't need to make the trip
to find out. As soon as I set foot on the island and see a spider's web
I'd be ready to go! And if I had to spend the night I'd be demanding to
know what's the thread count on the sheets they provide. What do you
mean they don't provide sheets?!? Well how many pillows do I get? And
don't get me started on the quality of the food. They would not like
the review I leave on Yelp...Just as soon as I find where they hid my
cellphone. And what's the WiFi password. The island better have a good
WiFi signal or I'm leaving that in my yelp review too!

I stopped watching this show ages ago and one of the reasons I did was
the contestants no longer really needed to tough it out in the elements.
They were constantly getting rewards of tents, equipment, and food that
made their stay a lot more comfortable than it used to be.

When the show first started, the contestants would look like anorexic
skeletons by the final vote. Now they look the same as they did when
they first arrived non the island.

Wow. They really did react to all of Arthur's negative reviews on Yelp!

You should have seen Banu's tribe as they couldn't win anything. So
week after week they went without their flint so no fire. Also since
they didn't have a tarp or anything there was no cover for them which
is why in one episode we saw them sleeping underneath this big rock
that had a nice area where they wouldn't be hit by the constant rain.

>When the show first started, the contestants would look like anorexic
>skeletons by the final vote. Now they look the same as they did when

I think they gave up on that as they realized contestants that were
starving don't make for good TV. There was one woman on Banu's tribe
who works as a data analyst so she's likely fairly smart. But she
wasn't able to sleep out there and with the lack of regular food she
was a basket case when it came to doing the challenges or even putting
coherent sentences together by the end as she couldn't keep her focus.

I’m supposed to have that done in about eight years. I am hoping not to
live that long.

I am also hoping it goes well for you.

The last thing I want to do is hurt you, but it is still on my list.

Yeah I had that done on one eye last July and was SUPPOSED to have had
the other done in late August but they found stuff they didn't expect
(mostly calcification) and it's now late March and I'm still waiting.

It's effectively like having two eyes each with a different
prescription - I can drive but have to be careful or at least more so
than usual. If I couldn't I'd likely go utterly bonkers.

I had the cataract diagnosis three years ago. Its taken this long for
me to get the money together to do it.

Much the same with me. The only thing that saved me from coke-bottle
glasses is better materials to make lenses from. As it is the operation
went well, the check-up today didn't reveal any immediate problems, I
have 20/20 in that eye now and have a mid-April date for the operation
on the other eye. But I am/was so massively short-sighted that trying
to use both eyes now gives me a splitting headache, so I'm wearing an
eye-patch until then.

Did you get a lens with the 20/20 prescription in it?

What lens are you talking about? The one in my glasses frame or the one
implanted in my eye? The one in my eye doesn't have a "prescription"
like framed external lenses and I have not had a lens in the external
frame removed or changed. My left eye, without any eye glasses
prescription, has 20/20 vision according to the eye test that was part
of my post-op followup.

My mother had both lenses replaced. One is for normal vision, the other
is corrected for distance. That's what suzeeq is talking about. She had
to wear reading glasses: one with a clear lens, the other with a slight
correction. It was done that way to make it easier for her to drive but
she's stopped driving.

Sorry, I meant the new one in your eye, they do have them available now.
It was confirmed last summer that I have cataracts beginning to form,
but not impacting my vision now. Hopefully I won't need surgery for
several years. Congratulations on your improvement!
