In my earliest memories, my mother played Stardust on piano and my father played Reuben James and Whiskey in the Jar on guitar. My parents' records included Joan Baez, Pete Seeger, Buffy Sainte-Marie, the Limeliters, Xavier Cugat, Johnny Maddox, Harry Belafonte, Lena Horne, Herb Alpert, steel drum music from USVI, Tchaikowsky, Offenbach, J Strauss Jr., music from Greece, Hawaii, Trinidad, etc. My first classical record was Khachaturian.
