Unlike batteries, they are made of very thin metal and plastic sheets, so far more environmentally lasting and friendly.
They can charge and discharge much faster, depending upon the circuit resistance.
They are much safer and far more reliable and non-polluting than batteries.
Batteries are more compact for energy storage, and that is their great advantage.
When volume is not a consideration, supercaps are better.
They are used in buses and trucks that run on electricity in China, in conjunction with batteries.
Hydrogen, fuel cells, supercaps are the future, as stated by the engineers in ICEMS 2014.
But they said it will be around 2050 or so. One generation away, with better availability of H.
