Hi all,

With help / advice from the good folk here I now have mums replacement
phone up and running and think I have worked my way around most of it
since restoring her iPhone5S to it (like email password).

I have found and will print out a couple of pages of button push combos
for her and the rest should be reasonably familiar to her.

One thing though, because she's a bit mutton I've set the ringer volume
on max (to start with) but when I ring the phone it starts off loud then
goes much quieter?

I've also noted it wakes up when picked up (good thing) but I was wonder
what the panel think about enabling the face recognition for unlock? I
mean, does it generally work reliably?

Any other tips, ticks or 'good' settings I could set / check would be
appreciated.

p.s. I seem to be having a right issue with posting messages from TB to
ES. Often hanging on send or coming up with with another 'can't send'
type message. Save as draft and re-open > send sometimes works. Closing
TB, re opening sending draft sometimes works, sometimes the message
disappears. ;-(

I have googled to /temp folder containing more than 999999 messages or
some such but I can't find the /temp folder (W10)?

I read the latest T’bird has some bugs so best avoided. I don’t use it
anyway so not my problem!

I think lots of programs (and OS's!) have bugs and the only hope is that
they get round to fixing them. ;-)

I have used Netscape Communicator > TB for years and this is probably
the first time I've had any issues?

do not understand. You want to pretend to be also an "expert" on TB?

Current versions have some minor bugs like every software. Apple Mail is
not an option/alternative because it has just kindergarten level.

I have no problem with the email side of TB (over several / different
account types) it's just my use of the newsserver component on Eternal
September that is highly intermittent.

open > send, close TB and re-open etc) and nothing worked, then the
message vanished. ;-(

However, the last batch of message have sent ok?

What happens when it goes wrong is I first get this:

So I was wondering if there was another low cost newsserver that maybe
had a free trial so I could see if it was the server or TB (I'm going on

I use this server as well. No issues so far. The server of
Eternal-September had some difficulties a couple of weeks ago.

Look into my header. For english-speaking groups I use Solani. It is free.

TB is the only Mail-/Usenet-Client that works on all destop platforms
i.e. Windows, Mac and Linux.

The ES/TB bug has been around for a long time, I just move on to the
next post in the thread and then try resending, usually works. The pain
is remembering to close two sets of error messages first.

I've also noticed it can be quite slow getting the new messages Graham
so I'll be happy to pay ~£10/pa to avoid all that. ;-)

Yeah. The pain for me is already using TB over Agent but I couldn't get
the latest version to work like my old one nor be bothered move it all
across.

I'm pleased that it's a bug rather than something to do with my setup so
