*literally* 120 seconds to open the bonnet, unplug the cable, undo the
bolts, remove the old unit, put in the new unit, do up the bolts,
re-tension the belt, plug the cable back in and close the bonnet?

I'd like to see that, maybe you can make a YouTube video next time you
do one.

Yep, easy as everything easily accessible and the alternator is at the
top of the engine. How long do you think it should take to release a
belt tensioner, unclip a connector, undo two bolts and a nut for the
battery cable and complete that procedure in reverse for someone who has
done many?

This is such a menial job that even someone with zero experience such as
you could manage it in two minutes - after doing a few.

Just for you? No, you're not worthy.

This is some amateur casually yibber-yabbering her way through the
procedure using manual tools. Multiply that with experience times 100's
and using powered tools.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4mcB6CvFng

Possibly the only person on team FLCJC who couldn't do it would be Jonz,
he'd still be trying to work out which way is lefty loosy after 2 minutes.

Hope you're not holding your breath. it would take the average person 2
minutes to open the bonnet, disconnect the battery and if they're
*lucky* get the engine cover off without braking any bolts in 2 minutes.
Getting the alternator off would take just a _little_ bit longer.

These people are morons. As I said they're pretty basic as far as
alternators go, but claiming you can have one off in 2 minutes is
delusional. I'll bet any money you like that the allocated time from
Holden is/was significantly more than 2 minutes :)

And there you go. Called for his efforts of trying to make himself out
to be a victim when no one was even *remotely* talking about him, and
suddenly it's *my* fault that he made a complete cunt out of himself.

What a loser.

ROTFL :)

He claims he can do it in 2 minutes, and to prove that he posts a vid of
someone taking 20.

Either he doesn't _quite_ get the concept of "relevance", or he's a
total fucktard who thinks that posting any kind of nonsense will back
his claims.

Take your pick :)

Judging by some of the comments and claims I wouldn't trust Jerky Junior
to do it either. Not if you wanted it done properly.

Irrelevant. felix is not a member of the FLCJC.

An amateur, unqualified, inexperienced using very basic tools yapping
throughout the process in a how-to is *only* taking 20 minutes.

And you couldn't do it in two?

Clearly you must be at her level, which seems about right - except she
produces less white noise.

except she failed to do the job properly and is leaving herself open to
problems further down the road. The terminal connector should have been
cleaned before she put the nut back on to ensure a good connection.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the discussion was about 8
cylinder cars not sixes.

Certainly possible to do it a lot quicker than she did, it might even be
possible to do it in very short time if the job was setup first F1 style
in that all the tools you need plus the new alternator were laid out
very close at hand and the bonnet was already opened and the battery
disconnected and you had several assistants.
We all know how "different" WA is, maybe time moves slower over there
because even a fully setup F1 team would struggle to do the job in 2
minutes even if it was all laid out as above and you had at least 4
people doing the job.
At least he succeeded in getting himself some attention which is most
likely what he wanted.

Actually the conversation was about the complexity of some cars and how
relatively routine tasks like changing an alternator can be fairly
difficult and/or time consuming. Jerky Junior was clearly feeling a bit
relevance deprived with all of this as anything complicated is above his
accessory fitter pay-grade, so he shifted the focus onto something basic
that is more in line with his limited experience and in doing so made a
pathetic attempt at making himself out to be a victim.

It takes all kinds, but some clearly are remarkably fragile.

As I said, they are relatively simple. There is nothing at all that is
complex or time consuming about changing one which made their inclusion
in a conversation about complex and/or time consuming tasks to be
completely irrelevant, and you can change one in around 15 minutes. I've
even swapped a couple "on site" using nothing but basic hand tools and
it takes less than 15 minutes to do properly.

2 minutes is utter nonsense.

It's just another example of a relevance deprived attention seeking flog
making a noise for the sake of it.

Yep. He just *cannot* accept the fact that there are people who know
more and have done more than he has. He simply *has* to beat his chest
and make himself out to be superior otherwise his inferiority complex
will explode and kill him.

He shares that character trait with Clasener. No wonder they became best
buddies. Must be something about fucktards who wear wooden shoes....

What engine cover? A VR V6 doesn't have one.

It comes as no surprise to anyone with an automotive trade background
that the VACC have no record of your claimed decades of membership.
