Yes:
1 unit to IoW steam railway
2 to EOR
1 to local farm shop/cafe/etc
2 to the mainland for scrap
A further 4 units have been scrapped in Ryde over the last 20 years

Of the two units (4 cars) going to scrap, the bits on ebay are from one car
and the other three remain up for grabs, or did at the time of the ebay
advert.

Looking at the background of the ebay pic I posted is one of the floodlight
towers for Rotherham United, which confirms it's Booth's.

Indeed. Given the amount of work Ryde depot had to put in to keep the fleet
working, I'd imagine everything that could have been used has already been
taken.

Crane, low loader and ferry, at a guess; they left at the end of March:

One to IWSR, one to a chilli farm (both in-situ at their new homes); two to
an interim location pending onwards movement to EOR. Two to scrapyards (one
car to "Reid’s", three to Booths apparently).

If you want it for, say, an exhibition space, or 'gate guardian', the
internal condition probably doesn't matter so much (though the price
will!); if you want it as a garden ornament, I guess you'd be hoping for
the interior intact.

I've fantasised, on and off over the years, about how to improve the small
railway museum where I worked where I was younger; it's cut off from the
town by being on the opposite side of the railway station building, and
having something like a 38ts carriage in the public park area between the
town and station might help attract more visitors. The interior condition
would be irrelevant for a role like that.

Could it just be familiarity?

A company that has done work on carriages will probably know where any
nasty bits like asbestos are located and how to access it. Also where
any valuable bits are. So they can do the job quicker (i.e. cheaper)
than someone not familiar with them.

Thanks. Most of those look in better shape than the one for sale. Have

Four vehicles have left the island for scrap; three vehicles to Booths,
including the one advertised, and one to another yard called Reids,
wherever that may be.

We don't know how much of the visible "poor condition" was sustained after
arrival at the scrap yard.

Externally, looks like weathering, and it's only been there since March.
Internally, the listing strongly implies the missing stuff was
cannibalised years ago, rather than ripped out last week.

Reids is the haulier, based at Stoke on Trent.

They frequently move rail vehicles but don’t seem to as well know as the
other specialist
Allelys.

I believe that at least one move was a return load from the second 484 to
reach the island as it is Reids who have transported them. While on the
Island they moved the units to the Chilli farm and the IOWSR. The latter
has received another Terrier from the mainland on loan AFAIK using Reids
may also have brought back a 483 as a return load .
There are videos on you tube showing the various units making what for
some will have been their last wheeled movements being pushed slowly to
Sandown sidings by the Unimog that is over there.
