You use a pair of compasses to draw a ring, but not a boxing ring.

Ye'but. You have to take the compass out of the box in order to use it.

The Mappa Mundi at Hereford has five corners.

The "deep dark days beyond recall" only ended for me a couple of
years ago so I've been doing ATwhatever more recently than most. I
don't recall that and can't find it in my manpage of Hayes commands.

Can you recall more exactly what register & value that was?

Hereford Cathedral is on a road called Cathedral Close, to which the
appropriate reply would be "no kidding".

Tamworth Council are being sued for defamation by descendants of St
Editha for saying St Editha's Square.

Head out of Limerick towards Kerry and you will see signs
reassuring you that Patrick's Well - albeit missing a little punctuation.

Do you remember the story of the couple in NYC who had so many books
stacked along the passageway that the books collapsed and blocked the
exit and they starved to death.

I feel like that now. A ringbound book from USRobotics. Couldnt find it,
so I checked Wikipedia, and the full hayes set of that time, except for
ATR13=?. I will burrow further tomorrow. So many books and so many
unread.

I remember summat about Tamworth. The flitch (side of bacon) to a couple
who would swear not to have quarrelled during the year?

Also a breed of pig suitable for outside life.

Last time i was down that Road, heading for relatives in Clonmel, I
noticed wind turbines. Hmm. I had passed the turn.

A man was driving North to a Glasgow hospital where his parents were
taken after an accident.

A short distance South of Glasgow he passed a sign that said
"Motherwell" and a few miles further another which read "Bothwell".

Relieved he turned round and went home.

Not to mention a Celebrations box and a Quality Street box, and

If we are onto place names, the UK mainland has a few odd ones.
Piddle Trentide is one, ant the other is the only place in the UK that
contains a non letter in its name, namely Westward Ho!

Digression: Hereford Cathedral also has a chained library, each book
attached to the shelf by a (neccessarily hand-forged) chain. Were the
13th c. monks subject to attacks of kleptomania?
