Had a chance to get out to a local car show yesterday for the first time
in a good couple of years that didn't get rained out. It was trying to
rain for most of the day, but fortunately it held off long enough for
the show to go ahead.

The old truck generated a bit of interest among the punters:

And the official photographer took a liking to it as well:

I picked up a gong for my trouble :)

And the Tiktok girls were back at it asking me if I could stay around
for a bit after the show so they could shoot some pics & vids:

Lots of great cars, great people and just a nice day all round. Looking
forward to Summer :)

I like big mirrors but I think that they would look out of place on a

Very cool, I actually drove past there about midday and saw that there
was a show on, thought about stopping but it looked crazy busy.
Lots of car shows on at the moment, Les and I took our cars to a show at
an art gallery in Geelong a couple of weeks ago, lots of great cars
including a mint condition 1969 911 which the owner reckons is worth
approx $200k.
Actually worked on the Torana this morning, got it running after fitting
an in tank fuel pump and all new braided fuel lines, the owner hated the
very noisy pump that came with the Sniper kit.

There's a couple getting around with them on. I prefer the small chrome

I like the look of the current mirrors, but they're quite useless.
Particularly the left one, as they're made for LHD trucks and the mirror
doesn't turn in far enough to be useful.

They're actually replicas of the mirrors that were fitted to the things
originally, and the doors have slots in them that the mirror mounting
base passes through and secures to the inside of the door frame.

It was. Very busy in fact. It was the first time I'd been to that one
and I only went because the one that was scheduled for the Village
carpark on Saturday was cancelled due to the weather.

It was a great day, with some very cool cars making the show.

Nice.

Do you remember what pump it was? I'm thinking about putting a throttle
body injector on the Windsor when I eventually put it into the F100 and
would prefer a tank mounted pump.

Looks good. I haven't been to a show for years. Might have to get to the
next one here and get some pics.

I'll never understand why a certain type of Australians are attracted to
these American monstrosities. They're incredibly ugly, inefficient, poor
performers and have absolutely no place or impact on Oz history. Ditto
for the cars...

Not bothering to point out that the Fraudster took a mess of pix of his

You noticed that too, huh? All he did to it was weld up the exhaust and
paint the black body parts white. Hardly a restoration. But he
absolutely *needs* praise so he won't have mentioned that to anyone else.

I thought about going to that show but we actually went for a drive down
towards Anglesea and met with some of the group we met at the Geelong
show the previous week.

AFAIK it is a Holley Sniper kit, seems to be well made and I like the
what I call a "cam lock" system that secures it to the tank, 6 small
"cams" that rotate outwards as you tighten them.
We had to cut a certain size hole in the top of the aluminum drop tank
then the pick up and return lines have to be cut to a length to match
the tank depth then it drops in and locks with the cams, we also cut a
hole in the boot floor to access the tank and then made a cover for the
hole, looks neat and access to the pump is easy.

Cool. Thanks for that.

I'm looking at another kit made my someone in competition with Holley
who's name escapes me at the moment, and I'm not sure that they do an in
tank pump.

Can't remember if I mentioned it but the ECU of the Holley kit we
installed failed, only 3mths warranty so he had to buy another one but
the new one has a separate ECU instead of it being built into the
"carby", don't know what caused it fail, maybe heat or vibration from
the engine, hopefully the second one lasts a lot longer.
