Yep, he's 100% full of shit, only he knows why he makes such stupid
comments, how the fuck would he know what I did or didn't see.
It was when I was working as a courier around the late 80's, I was just
entering the Tullamarine freeway at the Flemington end, RR was beside me
at the lights and when the lights went green he nailed it, took off very
quickly and when he was about half a km in front of me his engine let go
in a cloud of smoke and oil and he pulled into the emergency lane.
An hour or so later I was heading back into the city and the RR was on a
flat top and the truck driver was covering it up with a tarp.
Very likely a rare event but it most certainly happened, its not often
you see something like that which is why I remember seeing it.

There's been a few notable lemons over the years.

The JB Camira was an out and out heap of shit in every respect. The EA
Falcon was an incredibly problematic car and the subsequent EB wasn't
much better. Generally anything made in Italy is a fucking disaster, and
especially if it has an "Alfa" badge on it :)

Some other examples of 4 wheeled faults would be the Holden Captiva
which were plagued with mechanical and electrical problems, the early
Kia Carnivals with their Rover sourced V6 engine that was so
horrendously trouble prone that you would generally struggle to find one
of these things that still has it's original engine today. VL Commodores
with their propensity to crack cylinder heads and eat crank angle
sensors for breakfast. BA/BF/FG Falcons with their piss poor radiator
mounted trans cooler which usually fails and fills the transmission with
coolant, VE Commodores for their general "all round" appalling build
quality that allows the car fall apart around you combined with an
unreliable and agricultural V6 engine.

There would be others of course, but all of these cars listed here had
problems from the day dot and they are famous today for their "issues".

Especially Alfas. They are probably the only marque on the planet where
every single model they make is a total heap of shit that you wouldn't
own if someone held a gun to your head :)

You can only laugh at the snorkel fitter. His only connection with "new
cars" is fitting mudflaps and side steps on mine vehicles, but he
reckons he knows everything there is to the entire automotive world.
Like extracting fuel trim data that's over 2 weeks old at ramdom from a
car with no fault codes present.

You'd have to wonder how he actually manages to do that given that none
of it is recorded :)

Ever noticed how he *only* exists in this group these days to fling shit
and start arguments? Kind of strange behaviour for a bloke who likes to
beat his chest about being a moral truth teller.

If you had to make an assessment of the bloke based on his performance,
you'd classify him as a whiney little serialpest and nothing more.

He's a fucking idiot. It wouldn't have mattered if you took a photo and
posted it here, the moron would *still* deny it and insist that his
fantasy was correct and your reality was wrong.

He's a *massive* Karen :)

I remember seeing one broken down on Beaconsfield Parade once years ago.
It was in the right turn lane to turn into Kerferd Road and it was
blocking the lane with it's hazards on pissing what looked to be coolant
all over the road. I remember being stopped at that intersection waiting
on the lights when a tradie walking across the road walked up to the
thing and pretended to crank it by hand at the front bumper.

Made everyone around it laugh their heads off :)

Pretty much agree, my youngest sister had several Camira's and wouldn't
accept that they were junk but her husband is a mechanic that worked for
Holden so he fixed problems with her cars long before they happened so
she never had any problems so she still believes they were OK cars:-)

LOL.
Recently meet a couple of younger blokes at a car club event, between 5
of them they bought a late 80's Roller for $20k as a pub pick up car,
one designated driver to pick up the drunks.
They thought that it was a huge joke but after owning it for a while
they all can't wait for their turn to drive it, they all reckon its a
brilliant car to drive with a silky smooth ride and amazing brakes.

Said Fraudster. Flinging shit and trying to start an argument from behind
his mighty (snigger) killfail.

Really Fraudster, if you were just a smidge stupider you'd be a pumpkin.

I've only ever been in one, and it was quite comfortable but it made me
wonder what all the fuss was about. To me they've always been an old
man's car.

He dosn`t of course. However its the nature of the beast. He throws the word *liar* around like confetti and expects ppl to cop it sweet. (*Especially* in situations such as this.) Just another of the *would be if they could be`s* that I mentioned a couple of days ago.

That impression is *created* by the fact that most Rolls owners, by the
time they were wealthy enough to own one, were also *old*. That said,
many young *wealthy* people also owned Rollers. The *average age* of
Rolls Royce buyers these days is 42 with the youngest being Paras Gupta
at the tender age of 22. The times, they are changing. Paras Gupta even
beats John Lennon who was 24 at the time he ordered his *new* Rolls
Royce in December 64 and Lennon didn't even have a driver's licence
until February 1965. It would be safe to say that it was John Lennon in
1965 who changed the image of a Rolls Royce from that of a wealthy old
man's car to the car of choice for the *young nouveau riche*. Let me
see, you were 2 years old when Lennon first received his drivers licence
and 5 when he painted his black Rolls in psychedelic colours. What rock
have you been hiding under since birth?

The Rolls was always the car to be *chauffeured in* whilst the Bentley
was the *driver's car*. Been a passenger in a 1949 Rolls Royce circa
1974 and worked on a similar vintage Bentley (which was the 49 Roller
look alike) in 1970. Had an F head engine, IIRC. Had to climb into the
*huge* engine bay to lap in the valves in the block.
