I have access to both AOIE and Eternal september.

I cannot post anything new to UK.tech.digital-tv via AIOE as
Uk.tech.digital-tv is on the ban list with a reason of Matti vari (?)

See https://news.aioe.org/documentation/access-restrictions/

What is Matti Vari?

I can however post via Eternal september.....

Anyone know whats going on?

Is Aioe Italian? Looking through that link you gave shows several
Italian words or phrases as reasons for access restrictions.

According to DeepL Translator, "matti vari" is Italian for "various
madmen" or "various nutcases". We might all have our own ideas as to
which thread(s) that applies to, but I couldn't possible comment.

aioe is not really fit for purpose, it doesn't handle flood messages well, it
lets trolls forge IDs and nymshift with impunity, I flag all messages from it as
as "untrustworthy".

What do you expect for something free that you don't even have to sign

I don't expect anything, I don't use it apart from tests, and in effect I
slightly mark down anyone who does use it ... NIN is hardly expensive.

I would have thought there are worse groups for crazy messages myself. It
should not be for the server to black list groups I don't think. Have you
tried writing to them, I got a ban on there as my name was similar to
somebody else who was trolling generally, and it was fixed.

Its very strange as if I post here I see it there, but if I post it there,
then it either vanishes into limbo land or generates error mentioned. I
think this has to be finger trouble at the server end. If you use that
server a lot why not do as I say and write to them.
After all banning just posting does seem to be pointless in the extreme, if
you are going to allow people posting elsewhere to be seen.

No, Brian, it's because a certain troll posted anti-gay and anti-women
sentiment, and has been nym-shifting regularly for over a year.

The weird thing is that it still updates on there from here, and so I see no
sense in just rejecting direct posts.
I think its finger trouble on the part of their admin.

I did it differently. For text I use a free news server. For binaries I
bought 1Tb of data without an expiry date. Headers are free but bodies
are deducted from my data balance.

If my data lasts more than 3 months (I only bought it a month ago) then
my deal will be cheaper than yours.

The cost is so little I can't understand why people use crappy free news servers

Which "crappy" free news servers did you have in mind? I used Albasani
for many years until it folded, with Eternal September as a backup (it
was rarely required). I now use Eternal September with Solani as a
backup. I have had very few issues with ES, and on the two or three
times it has gone down I've used the backup without problem. I don't see
that any of those merit the term "crappy". I seem, by the way, to have
no need of binaries; is there any particular reason you need them?

I assume you're using the Agent Usenet service through forteinc.com (I'm
a bit puzzled why, from your headers, complaints go to
abuse@easynews.com. Is there a tie up?). Why would I require its
"Blazing Fast Connections" for usenet? And why, when I don't use
binaries, would I need umpteen GB a month?

Neither have I. The only bit of minor bother I've had is that shortly
after I set it up my bank queried the very small monthly payment in
dollars, possibly because it triggered an unusual behaviour alert, but
since then it's been fine. It just works.

That's an answer to a question I didn't ask. What about the three other
points? FWIW, I've been using ES daily for several hours for 5 years.
For a free service, two or three outages for an hour or two in 5 years
is quite acceptable to me. YMMV.

By the way, I use a definitely not crappy free OS (Linux Mint) instead
of paying for one I don't need (although I have donated to Mint). If you
must use Agent, you've got to use Windows or mess around with Wine,
which can then leave Linux vulnerable to Windows malware. But then I see
it is possible to use the AUS without using Agent itself
(https://www.forteinc.com/apn/faq.php#4B384B55BF89E3A188256D64005C7AF7).
