I caught the virus about 2 weeks ago. Possibly at at the times I got my
3rd jab or possibly when I took an elederly lady to the x-ray dept at our
local hospital. probablt because I've been double jabbed, I'm only feeling
"tired" - none of the well punlicised symptoms.

Thank you for an informative account. Bob Latham seem to have form.

I don't have any views on climate change. I became exhausted by the
accusations and counter accusations in the Climategate rumpus when
documents got hacked years ago at the university of East Anglia. For
years after, the arguments never seemed to end and I lost interest in
trying to make sense of it.

As you're impressed by Human Planet, I downloaded a copy but I have a
pile of other reading which never seems to go down and it must take
its place in the queue.

Anyone can draw a graph and add a narrative that matches the graph.
Having done that, it isn't difficult to use that narrative to claim that

stream TV reporting that cases have been dropping since 20th October.

Not a source I would trust. No longer a news outlet, they are a

There's also a dispute going on over NHS claims about the number of
people in hospital with covid being 14x what it was last year.
Article in the Telegraph yesterday did the maths, I'm NOT CERTAIN of
the figures but I think it showed that would mean 170,000 people or
something daft like that.

As regards the deaths, I thought deaths was the one area that
vaccines were effective after infection and transmission were noted
as ineffective.

I think I've pointed out a number of times that I've not watched the video
so can't comment on his "description". The POINT I keep making is that if
YOU want to present it as evidence FOR something YOU believe then YOU need
to understand the science, etc, behind it. I'm not presenting it, you are.
So you need to deal with explaining.

Since then, others have looked at it and pointed out problems you've not
dealt with.

In the past I have repeatedly looked into the basis of the claims you
present as being 'science'. But when examined they turn out to be sour
cherries you've picked. Demonstrating, time after time, that you either
have nae clue about science or simply want cherries that 'prove' whatever
suits your obsessions with 'woke', 'lefities', etc.

In essence, your approach is the antithesis of science. You start from
finding a claim or pretty (in your eyes) looking 'result' to wave as
a cherry. I've repeatedly delved into the basis of these, and find that
in terms of science, they are junk or a misreading of what was found.
JJ has more patience than me with this, I admire him for it, but often
now can't be arsed to waste more time when it is quickly obvious
that you're just doing it again. So...

Given your poor track record wrt 'selecting evidence' I'm content with that
as things stand. If you'd bothered to consider what I've recommended in
the past I may have been more willing. But given your track record that
looks like it would be a waste of my time. And what others have said makes
sense.

If you really want me to investigate this cherry then you'd first have
to show some sign that you're willing to listen. I've not seen a hint
of that from your reactions thus far. But I doubt I'd reach different
conclusions to JJ, etc, whose examinations show you're doing the same old,
same old.

Yes. His recent behaviour here is preceeded by many previous examples
of the same behaviour - mainly exhibiting a determined preference for what
he *wants* to believe over any clue about the science. This arises in any

that supports his belief is peddled. Anything that clashes gets dismissed

There you will see that cases are declining and deaths increasing. As it
takes around a month to be killed by the virus, you would expect deaths to
more or less match the case rate a month ago, which seems to be the case.

you will see it is very much lower than the peak in roughly February this
year. Given we were very much more restricted then than now, I’d conclude
that the vaccines are very much working.
