Yes. But, crucially, the bike died on the race lap. So I only did
one (practice) lap, not "a couple of circuits" :-)

No, not at all - the class/event was called "TT Zero", with no
connection to the company "Zero"

There were a significant number of electric motorcycle stands at Motorcycle Live. Some very nice options, all dogged by inadequate battery technology, perhaps this will be resolved within 15 years. Special mention for the Spanish company Silence for their take on a 5kWh removeable battery with handle and wheels.
The Zero SR/S touring bike is quite something and interesting to note that ride height has been made "unisex" https://flic.kr/p/2mPzwqx
But ridden at Gentlemans' Touring speeds with head/aux lights, heated clothing and SatNav? useless 50-75 mile range, minimum 1hr charge.

Suzuki have also addressed the (overdue) ride height issue, with the GT and GSX-S being useable "out of the box". Ducati (at least) have both seat height and rear shock options on the Monster and 950 Supersport. I'm kinda surprised there havent been discrimination cases brought against manufacturers by lady riders, average height being 160ish

I'll see your electrics and raise you an Italien/Italian motorhome
electrics. I'm currently[1] chasing an intermittent fault where all the
power suddenly turns off, or the 12V supply dips to about 8v.

It's not just lady riders. Elderly gentleman riders such as myself may
have difficulty getting their leg over (as I have been informed the
modern parlance is). I have to mount the Tiger cowboy-fashion, can just
about bounce onto the T120 but cowboy style again is preferable, and
trying to get on bikes like the current Speed Triple is pointless
because although I can happily cope with the seat height, I can't get
across the immensely high pillion seat/rear seat area.

Hence my purchase of the Husky 401 supplied with lowering kit. My right
hip precludes anything higher [1]. Fairly 'level' pillion section of the
seat too.

[1] X-ray appointment awaited after a 'flare up', so perhaps I will get
on a (very, very long) replacement list.

An update. The nice people at EEMC had a chap drop by on his way to
the NEC.

The chap reckoned that my bike's probably got the later Hall-effect
throttle, took the logs off the bike, and we chatted for half an hour
while his laptop reprogrammed the bike's various controllers.

So, they've got the logs and can send them to Energica if necessary.

Good and bad news, really. I had hoped and expected that it would be
an easy throttle swap, but if the programming cures it then I'll be
happy.

Yesterday it was still going OK, with tons of low-end grunt, but would
back off (not kill) the power somewhat erratically at WOT. This still
meant that it could (I guess, naturally) achieve three figure speeds.

Oh, and apparently the battery voltage at its current (ahaha) charge
state of 99% is a bit over 320V. Kids, don't put the wires on your
tongue.

It always suprised me that the Italian word for German is "Tedesco".
And while we say "german", the french say "allemand", which the
germans themselves say "deutsch". I wonder why so many differences?

Why surprise?

Germany is a relatively recent geo-political construct.

The Spanish name has its roots in Latin. The French word has its roots in
an ancient tribe & language living over the Rhine border in the early
Middle Ages.

As Andy's link identifies, other names for the current country of Germany
derive from Prussia, Saxony etc, presumably depending in which old kingdom
a country had a relationship with when their language developed.

It's mostly down to the many tribes/peoples who migrated across the
continent over a couple of thousand years. The Teutoni (Roman name)
whence the present-day Italian word, which term also migrated into
Deutsch and Dutch, the Allemani, whose name is still used to refer to
the German language group of Alsace. southern Germany and Northern
Switzerland. German came from Latin as well, but isn't so clearly
deroved from a tribal grouping, but relates to germain as in
'belonging to' a group of peoples in a given area.

Thanks (and to Wessie and Ace)

Italy was only unified by Garibaldi [1] in the 19th century as well,
but seems to be know by versions/variations of "Italy" everywhere
