So the answer for best chance of getting to ski, pick resorts that
have chairlifts out of the village, or possibly, Swiss ones. Or
Scandinavia and learn cross-country ski-touring. Which has appealed to
me.

I haven't checked recently how they're going to do it, but the French
have been insisting on a vaccine certificate for entry into bars and
restaurants, so it's our assumption that this will also be enforced
somehow for skiing, most likely when buying the lift pass.

Not sure about travel restrictions either, Switzerland imposed a
quarantine requirement for UK visitors when the Omicron variant hit
the headlines, so we had a couple of cancellations, annoyingly, then
they lifted it after little more than a week. There's always a chance
things will change again, but my advice would be to book it anyway and
take your chances. Then again, I would say that, I suppose.

Naturally. Like all resorts' reports indicate high pistes are "packed
powder" even when lifts are 17/53 open.

currently still several testing requirements, I think you need one
before you arrive and one after 7 days stay here, and/or one for your
re-entry into the UK. I'm not certain and they change all the time.

So it seems (currently) a PCR or Antigen within 72 hours before travel
to Switzerland, and if only staying 6 nights then no absolute need for
another, but UK rules require one anyway before travel, plus a locator
form. Looks as though that Swiss test could be tricky and costly,
though Zurich Airport has a medical centre that can do rapid antigen
tests.

Can local pharmacies do this? It's hard to figure out.

Return to UK seems to pose a further problem: PCR test after 2 days
of return and it looks like self-quarantine until the result comes in.

Currently, it is quarantine until you get a negative
result. Had a member of staff off an additional two days
recently as the company that was doing the test seemed to
be dragging there heels.

can do the test at any time between arrival and the end of day 2.

Most pharmacies seem to be offering the Antigen tests, some including
the Rapid ones. Costs seem to be as low as chf25 for the normal
Antigen test chf40 for the rapid one. Closest one to us would be a
15-20 minute drive away, mind.

There are some local medical centres that do PCR ones as well. For
values of 'local' that include up to an hour round trip down the
mountain.
