As far as I can tell the most common form of natural death is being
eaten alive followed by starvation or accident (not sure which wins).

Ethics and morals are human things, you need to be sentient to have
them, nature just is.

The most common form of unnatural death would be to be at Ground Zero during a nuclear weapon detonation. The beauty of it is you would feel absolutely no pain , because your brain would be vaporized before any pain signals could get there.

Let's push for a painless death.

But we can be tranquil and thankful and proud
for man's been endowed with a mushroom shaped cloud.
And we know for certain that some lovely day
someone will set a rocket off
and we will all be blown away.
They're rioting in Africa.
There's strife in Iran.
What nature doesn't do to us will be done by our fellow man.

It's more likely the common form of unnatural death would be a slow
painful one due to radiation poisoning for all those not at ground zero.

I'm still hoping for a nice peaceful passing, in bed, before then,
preferably in the voluptuous embrace of a good, or bad woman.

I am currently holding interviews for an X^5. It's been on the cards for
a long time.

oh yes the Merry Minuet by the Kingston Trio. I remember my brothers playing it when I was a very young tyke many years ago .
it's rather odd the way humans can create artifacts so much larger than ourselves . must be that magnificent invention called teamwork.

Interesting idea.

Affix a large push-button at some point along a busy street, with a legend.

"Press for Painless Death."

Attach a counter to the button, and maybe an observation camera.

A fpubby fiend of mine was once given a welded shut steel box with
a similarly labeled button as a burpday present. He held out for a few
hours before pressing the button - inside the box were two lantern
batteries, a latching relay and an air horn. It ran for over an hour
before the flatteries went bat.

First sixth form Chemistry lesson saw a bottle left prominently on a
bench. It contained a a coloured liquid (I cannot remember the colour
now), of course no one touched it, well for a short time. Then while the
teacher disappeared into the prep room someone had to pick it up and
give it a little shake. Quick as a flash the colour changed.

Teacher comes back and tells the gentlemen and lady present, careful
what you do in this lab unless you know what your are doing and its
consequences.

Incidentally after a while the colour changed back.

My father left a tobacco tin lying around. When curiosity got the better
of me, a large button suspended on a wound up rubber bands shot out
across the room.

I have a tin box about the size of one which would hold six pencils
abreast. When primed it has a flat piece of plastic in the miggle of
which is attached a wound-up ruber band stretched between the ends of
the box.

Give everybody on earth a button which initiates World War III. Put a label underneath it which reads "Please don't push this."
