Cousin and her husband, both retired teachers, both have £50,000
holdings. Between them they win £100-150 a month most months, missing
once or twice a year.
A few years ago I read an article that said recent numbers win more
often than older ones because there are more of them. Someone could
check that against the database of winners. I won 4 x £25 last year,
with numbers that I hadn't had for a year.

Minimum seems to be £25 now.

But the £1, which bought you a single bond in 1956, had the same buying
power as £32 now.

What were interest rates when you were winning?
What were interest rates when you weren't?

The number of prizes depends on the total prize fund which is based on
the bank rate.
