me that I got a passport stamp at St Pancras.

quickly fills up.

I got them when I was travelling a lot for work (having said "was", I'm
in Bangkok at the moment) and I was either waiting for visas with my
passport away at the appropriate office and needed to travel so I had
two passports. The other reason is some countries won't let you in if
have a visa stamp from another.

You are, if you have a valid reason, and the two mentioned above are the main ones. I phoned up and asked about it a few years back when work were trying to send me to one Israel, and I was looking at holidays in countries that aren't mad keen on stamps from there. It's as simple as sending in an application for a new one, along with your current one and a covering note explaining the problem.

This was the norm even forty-odd years ago when I was in the Merchant
Navy - anyone visiting Israel would have a spare passport used
exclusively for that, given the number of unfriendly (to Israel)
nations at that time. Not just the Arab ones, whe allegedly wouldn't
even let you in, but quite a few others where an Israeli stamp might
bring you additional attention at Customs and Immigration.

Israel is a PITA to get in and out of even if you don't have any stamps
in your passport.
